I wore this dress to a formal event just two days before I had my baby, and it was perfect! I got SO many compliments. It is super comfortable and the color and fabric are great. The zipper does stick a little. I normally wear a 4 when I'm not pregnant. I had no idea what size to get while 40 weeks pregnant. I picked this dress because it looked stretchy and not form fitting. It was perfect! I am here to tell you that you CAN wear beautiful designer fashions while pregnant! I have rented from RTR with both of my pregnancies and I always have a great experience. I ended up wearing a 10 and it worked great. Definitely get the R if you are not tall (I'm 5'5 and the R was still a little bit long on me). I loved this dress!
Really loved this dress; flowy where I needed it to be and very flattering. I loved the cap sleeves. As others mention it's very revealing at the bust - I had to pin it quite a bit - but once pinned is great. I know others have stated it runs large, but if you have a large chest I'd highly advise ordering a dress true to size! Any smaller and I would've been squished. It's a gorgeous deep violet and I received a ton of compliments. If you're 5'7" or up, and plan to wear heels, you'll definitely need the long. Really recommend it!
This dress absolutely fits true to size. I have a bigger bust so I was worried I might be falling out of it, but it was just the right amount of cleavage without being slutty. It's a very comfy material and an easy dress to dance in. Because I'm 5'9 I couldn't wear heels with it, but it was still perfect for my evening!
I'm 5'7 and ordered the 6L which fit perfectly, without a bra on, and it covered my heels.
Perfect length for a shorty like me, very comfortable, and the color is brilliant. Only complaint is the lower front showed off more cleavage than a company Holiday Party calls for. It felt like anyone a little taller than me could look down and see stuff.
I have recently lost some weight, so sometimes I am a size 8 (because of my large rear end hehe) , and other times I am a size 6. The size 6 of this dress fit well, so I can assume the dress sizing runs a tad large. The material was soft and I was comfortable all night long. I did however have to use a bit of fashion tape to make sure my bra did not slip out. Other than that the dress was perfection!
I loved this dress! I rented it for a formal affair at a Newport mansion, and felt that it was fancy enough without being too over the top. It was so flattering and made my chest look great! I am 5'4'' and originally ordered the dress in a 6R, but when I got it, it was way too short to wear with anything but flat sandals. RTR overnighted me a 6L and the length was great. That being said, if you're taller than me and want to wear heels with this dress, it may not be the right one for you as the long size was perfect for me in my 3.5 inch heels.
Very low cut but extremely flattering. True to size and length descriptions. Perfect dress for the manager ball it was worn to.
I wore this dress to my fiance's law school formal, and I thought it was a great pick. It does run a little large though. Still a beautiful dress, and I'm happy with my choice!
This is a great dress that can be worn by different body types, but especially curvier women. The ruching will hide a bit of belly, and the fabric is stretchy but thick enough not to cling so much as to look cheap. Be aware that the dress does run big and the top is extremely low cut. Even wearing a slip, I felt a little self conscious about the level of cleavage going on. You may wish to experiment with different under garments to meet your preferred level of modesty :) That being said, pairing this with a bold necklace makes a big statement, and I got a lot of compliments on this dress.
I loved this dress and felt absolutely beautiful in it. However, it was extremely low-cut and I looked extra busty in it. That would have been fine had I not been attending a gala for work. The back was a sexy addition and the dress was very comfortable.
LOVED this dress. I did have to use tape along the bust to make sure my bra didn't show, but it fit well. If you want to wear heels, definitely order the longer dress as I had to wear flats. If you are smaller in the chest, I would also recommend sizing down as the dress was large in the shoulders and had LOTS of room at my hips.
Very flattering and comfortable. The color looks much brighter in the picture. I needed short heels to make it work, though. If you plan on wearing really high heels, you might want to order the long one.
This dress worked wonderfully with my 6 month baby bump at a formal wedding at a winery. Even at 25 weeks pregnant I felt sexy but at the same time comfortable, and it's flattering in all the right places. I couldn't wear a regular bra but it wasn't a problem with a backless sticky kind. I took somebody else's advice and pinned it at the neck in the back or else it would've been a little big in the shoulders. I wore 2" heels and the length was perfect. Would definitely recommend!
This dress saved the day because it looked wonderful and fit my (very pregnant) bump + accompanying F cups at 33 weeks pregnant when I had to attend a black tie event. A word to the wise, though, when considering top-half support. The cut out on the back is awesome, but won't accommodate a conventional bra. The right halter or a strapless is the way to go, but the way the front is cut, full coverage cups and most demi cups will show when you are working with a cup size on the larger end of the spectrum. I ended up going with a stick-on that did the trick, but there was a morning-of scramble to get the right underthings.
I usually wear a 2P or 4P, but I rented the 4R due to the baby bump and it fits perfectly! The neckline is way too revealing than I would have wanted, but due to the pregnancy I was fuller in the bust area than usual. Overall, I received many compliments and the dress showed off my 37 weeks baby bump beautifully!
Has enough stretch so you are comfortable all night.
I wore this dress to a wedding while 7months pregnant and it was perfect for the baby bump. Fitted in the bust and back with the perfect space for the belly. Makes you feel feminine by tucking at all the right spots and sitting perfect on the baby bump. I went up 1 size from my normal (i am usually a size 4 in a dress) and went with a 6L since by bust is a little larger then normal while perfect and it fit like a glove.. I am 5'10" and the long was absolutely necessary. I wore gold flats and if I had worn heals, you would have seen the full heals as the dress hit right at the top of my foot.
I rented this dress for a March wedding while 8 months pregnant. I saw previous reviews and thought it would work perfectly. And it didn't disappoint. I usually rent a size up since I feel most of these designers tend to run a little snug and other reviews of this dress suggested going up a size while pregnant to accommodate the added size. If pregnant I would try to rent the long. Unfortunately only the regular size was available and it worked fine but you could see my feet and I wore flip flops all night. It was really comfortable and has a stretch to it. I probably could have gone a size down but worked. The only thing keeping this from a five star review is it is really really low cut. I tried to pin the front but it didn't look right. Their is no built in support so you have to wear a bra. If you're confident them go for it but I found myself self conscious all night and was pulling up the front a lot. But at the end of the day if you need a dress for a nice occasion and you need it to be bump friendly this dress works great.
The dress was beautiful and worked well once I safety pinned the back. The dress was too large through the shoulders and I think an 8 would have fit much better. Length was good with my heels.
I wore this dress to a wedding almost 9 months pregnant and it was perfect. It is empire waist, so it hits your belly at the perfect spot and the stretchy material was great. It fit a little large in the back, but not horrible. You could always pin it if needed too. All in all, very happy! So much cuter than a maternity dress!
I rented this dress for a formal party my husband and I attended when I was 22 weeks pregnant. Since I would normally wear a 6, I wanted to size up to an 8, but it was unavailable. I was getting desperate for any dress, so I decided to try the 10R. It was slightly big on me, especially on top. I ended up having to cross the top of the back and pin it over itself to make it look nice, but it wasn't noticeable, even with my hair up. I didn't mind the extra room in the rest of the dress, but I think the 8 would have been fine as well. The only issue was that the dress was a bit short for a regular length dress. I'm 5'2", by no means tall, and it was barely longer than floor length without shoes. I almost wore flats, but decided to go with heels anyway and it was fine. Just beware the length-- I triple checked to make sure I hadn't somehow ended up with a Petite instead. Overall- this dress is perfect if you are pregnant and I would definitely rent it again. It seems like it would work at any stage of pregnancy and I felt beautiful-- several strangers stopped to tell me how amazing I looked.
A simplistic, sexy, yet comfortable dress. Had fun dancing in it. This dress ran big everywhere for me, bust, back, waist, you name it. It wore well considering I had no idea what the actual dress code for the wedding was that I was going to..... considering it was Black Tie. (I felt a little under dressed.)
Fit my 5'5'' frame perfectly along with everywhere else! The only part about this dress that I did not like was how deep the chest plunge is. It doesn't look as bad on the model because she doesn't have boobs, but for me everything was spilling out.
Fantastic dress. I wear a 10/12 but the 10 fit great. Stretch fabric that doesn't hug your mid section which was a big plus. Super flattering, and I was able to wear flats which was a huge plus.
The fit is really nice, It hugs nicely from the waist up and is nice and loose from the waist down. This dress shows a lot of cleavage so you may want to have some double sided tape handy to keep things from becoming too revealing.
The color is more aubergine / eggplant vs. navy but it is really a wonderful color. Honestly, no cons at all. I got more compliments in this dress than I ever have in my life. It is low cut but completely classy (I wore it to my boyfriend's father's office gala), fitted at the top but loosely flowing (so you don't have to worry about eating that extra piece of dessert!), and is just phenomenal all around.
I'm 5'11'' and the long was just long enough to wear flat-ish sandals with it. The overall fit was nice. It does show off the chest a little, but it's fine if you're expecting it. I wore a deep plunging strapless bra with it, and it worked great. I was also 15 weeks pregnant when I wore this dress and while it is very roomy and comfortable, I wouldn't say it "hides" a belly at all. Which was fine, I was over that weeks ago!
This was a great dress and worked well with my almost 6 months pregnant belly. I am typically a size 4, and the size 6R fit, but was short especially with the bump, so the 8R worked well. You need a low cut bra. The fabric is a little stretchy which was nice and made the dress more comfortable.
The dress was beautiful! The color was richer than pictured online. I would recommend a strapless bra. At 5'3" and wearing 3'' heels, the dress was a bit long but easy to hem with tape. I would definitely recommend this dress! It was also very comfortable.
I needed a dress for a black tie wedding that also fit my 4 month pregnant belly. This dress is ideal for anyone pregnant and would definitely recommend it. The material is flexible and there is plenty of room in the front for a larger belly. It's fitted in the back so you still have some nice contouring. I went up one size and it fit pretty well. Chest is cut low so I had to use a bobby pin to secure the dress to my bra so it wouldn't show. The dress is definitely a dark purple. Not navy as it looks in the picture. Very comfortable as well!
I picked this one because I have a little 18-week baby bump, and it was perfect. I was actually expecting blue from the picture (I know, it's purple in the title), but I was actually thrilled with the color. Only thing is, I had pretty high heels, and I should have gotten a 4L. The hem was floating well above my ankles. It definitely needs a stand-out necklace to go with it.
The dress fit great. Was true to size for me and was very flattering in the mid section area. I am almost 6' tall, and the Long size was almost long enough...would have loved for it to have been a tad longer. Overall was a very great fitting and flattering dress.
The dress fit like a dream. the gentle fold hid my troublesome tummy area and provided a sleek silhouette. Would absolutely try this again - maybe in another color!
I noticed that many women ordered this dress when they were pregnant. I did as well; my only advice is to order the "long" version if you have a belly. The front was a few inches to short because of my baby bump. I got many compliments. Works well with almost any necklace.
I wore this to a black tie fundraising gala... I liked this dress a lot - the violet color is gorgeous, very much a dark blue-purple, and very flattering.I ordered my regular size and a size smaller for backup - I wore my regular size because it fit better in the bust, but fit easily into both (the fabric is very stretchy!). The dress does show a lot of cleavage, so if you're uncomfortable with that amount of skin and/or have a large chest, just be aware! If you have a smaller bust, however, I'd definitely size down as this dress has a ton of extra room in the waist/hips. I wore a strapless bra with a single halter strap for support, and used some dress tape on the edge of the neckline - it worked out great! I also found that the yoke of the dress was pretty big - and I have fairly broad shoulders - but I used some garment tape to tighten it up as well. Last thing, this dress was pretty short! I'm only 5' 5" and wore my lowest pair of heels (about 3 1/2") and the dress was about an inch or two off the floor. If you're any taller than I am and want to be able to wear high heels, I'd definitely recommend getting the longer length. All in all, this was a very pretty dress in a flattering cut and color, but it definitely had some fit issues. Not bad, but not a knockout.
It was a little longer than expected. I'm 5'2" and wore 5" heels and had to hold the dress for walking or stairs but otherwise loved it. Danced all night with no problems =)
I didn't end up wearing this dress. It was extremely low cut. It was low enough that it showed the center of my bra. The mid section was very flowy which would disguise any flaws you may want to hide in your tummy. It ran a little short for me.
Fit was OK, empire waist was forgiving, but the cleavage was very low and I couldn't find a bra that would work with the dress. I tried it on w/o a bra but that didn't work either. Ended up returning it and wearing a dress from my closet.
The 10 was a smidge too tight in the hips - just kind of clingy and not particularly flattering. The 12 was too big in the bust/back area. The neck line plunged waaaaaay too deep on the 12 basically because the dress was just too large. Pretty dress though.
