I rented this dress for my mother (who is 54 years old, 5'8" and a Pear who usually wears a size 8 or 10) and she LOVED it. She looked amazing, and felt amazing, and got tons of compliments. It was the perfect look for the retirement dinner/cocktail party we attended, just formal enough but not over-the-top.
