This dress can definitely be dressed up or down. I almost felt it was not formal enough for the wedding I was going to, but ended up wearing it and it worked just fine. The fabric photographs really well (it's not shimmery in person). The folding at the neckline is beautiful and the dress' cut creates a tiny waist without being restrictive.
