I rented this dress to wear to a fundraiser supporting the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation. Our 2.5 year old was born with CF. (Please learn more at cff.org) Purple is the color of the CF Awareness ribbon. The shoulder straps of the dress were very loose on me. There was one to two inches of fabric that I had to safety pin up in the back to keep the dress up and avoid a wardrobe malfunction. The sticky tape that RTR sent with my order did not help as it just stuck to the inner lining and made the lining show. This could be due to the fact that I have virtually no boobs from breastfeeding two kids. But it is worth noting that it did not fit on top. I do agree with the sequins being very scratchy! I would not recommend this dress to ladies with my figure, with nothing to put in the top of the dress. Also, the alternate size 8L was so big that it would have shown my whole chest area had I worn it. Just noting that also. The rest of the dress fit great, very flattering
