I rented two dresses for my husband's semi-formal military function. This was a no brainer. I was surprised at the color- eggplant and pink (there's a little black in the vertical lines). And it's a little heavier than I imagined. But..... IT IS A SHOWSTOPPER. I have never felt so good about myself. Strangers were coming up to me complimenting the dress. Definitely the right choice.
