I'm a curvy girl (very wide hips, small waist), and I'm almost 5'9". I chose this dress because it seemed it would be forgiving in the bottom, and complimentary on the top. It fit that description perfectly. I chose the 6L originally, and ordered the 4L as a backup - but the 4L was perfect! The 6L would have been WAY too long. As it was, the 4L swept the floor, and I was wearing 3 inch heels. I had a fabulous time, and felt classy and sophisticated.
