I am usually a size 14 and it was swimming on me in the regular size. I'm 5'2" barely and the regular was like I was wearing a big/tall size. The 12 petite fit me perfectly - length, size, everything. Plus, RTR was able to get it to me the day I needed it - I ordered it to arrive on Thursday to return on Sunday but when the regular size was too big they overnighted the petite to me and I got it by noon on Saturday of my event. I love, love, love RTR. Only downside was that someone else rented the same dress but we are all friends so we had a good laugh about it :)
