It was mostly true to size, but maybe just a little big. Order a lower size as a backup. (I made the mistake of ordering a larger size.) It works with most standard bras, but you will probably need to use the complementary fashion tape to secure the straps so they don't slip to reveal your bra. This dress is great for short waists (but I imagine would also work for long). Versatile--appropriate for a formal affair but also fits into cocktail attire. Highly recommend.
