My usual pants size is a 2 or 4, so I opted for the 4-regular, which fit me perfectly. I'm 5'4 and wore two inch heels, and the length was perfect for me - touched the ground, but had no trouble dancing in it. This dress is so flattering! But my favorite feature was the material draping over the hips, which just enhanced my little figure. Very comfortable dress to wear and I had no need for Spanx. If you are going for a formal, elegant and sexy look - I highly recommend this dress.
