It was my first time to the Grammy's and while black tie, over half of the women wear short dresses with a little sass and edge. I only had 3 days to pull it together and fly to L.A. I had other options, but friends (including my friends' hubbies and boyfriends) chose this one by a long shot. First it is green and not black... But it is dark so it is a good alternative. And the entire dress is done in sequins which made it very formal and fun for a short dress. The Grammys is a long event and this dress was comfortable. It has some ruching on the sides near the hem and my only complaint is that I didn't think it was even. It wasn't noticeable to anyone but me. I went with bare legs and high strappy rhinestone platform sandals. The only jewelry I wore was some long rhinestone and green earrings. I had no time to alter so I knew that a dress with some stretch would be my best best since I am normally a 12 on top and a 10 on bottom and if it fit on top, I knew it would fit on bottom. I got the XL as a back up and it would have been OK too, but just a little too loose on bottom so it didn't hang as well. Finally, I am 55 so I wanted something fun, but that would be age appropriate and flatter my hourglass figure. Overall... Thumbs up!
