Definitely go with the long option if you're tall or want to wear heels! I'm 5'10" and the 8L was perfect with 3 inch heels. The zipper is sort of a pain but not a huge problem. I was worried about needing to go up in size because of bust size, but the 8 fit perfectly. I got tons of compliments all night and it was easy to dance in too!
