Fit was great - hugged in all the right places without being too revealing. I'm athletically shaped and sometimes the 1-shoulder dresses can make my shoulders look broader and my chest flatter; but the rouching of the top portion of the dress was very feminine. This dress could be dressed up or down, depending on the occasion. The material wasnt too thin so I could get away without needing to wear any special undergarments (no slip or bra with particular straps or anything). Of note, the slit goes up pretty high (higher than I expected given the picture); it wasn't a problem for me but keep this in mind if you're going to an outdoor event (ie, wind!).
