I had this dress on my wish list because I thought it would be great to wear for a work event. When I saw it was $20.14 to rent, so I figured I'd give it a try. I planned to wear it to brunch with friends the Sunday after Christmas. I tried on the 8 first, which is my usual size. It fit comfortably in the hips, but the top was practically falling off my shoulders, and I had inches of extra fabric under my boobs. Since the fabric is stretchy, I tried on the 6. It was tighter in the hips and still very large up top. I tried belting it and tucking the excess fabric under the belt. I still didn't think it looked good and opted not to wear it at all. The sleeves are much wider than they look on the model. The pros are that this dress has thick, high quality fabric, and I think the color-blocking would have been flattering on my shape if it fit. In fact, I would absolutely buy a dress like this and get it altered to fit me for work events. It has a really beautiful, unique look. This dress would look good on someone straight and narrow or someone with an hourglass figure (belted). It is not good for pear shapes or someone with narrow shoulders and narrow rib cage.
