I probably did not need to wear spanx, but am glad I did. The dress was extremely form fitting and showed every curve. The dress I wore had a lower cut back and the spanx, if worn properly, would have shown. I ended up having to fold the band down to my hips. It actually felt much better worn that way because they compress the rib cage making it difficult to breathe.
