If you're going to an outdoor event or are taking photos outside you'll definitely need a slip underneath the dress. It's a little see through with the light shining on it. I wore 5" heels (...I'm short) and the regular was the perfect length for me. I actually ended up wearing a 2R instead of my normal size 0 because I ordered the 0L, but the dress still fit perfectly. SO glad I ordered two different lengths just in case.
