Surprisingly comfortable as clip-ons, enough so that they didn't bother me even after 6 or 7 hours of wear. It's hard to tell from the picture, but the jewels are attached to a black leather-like fabric. The earrings look lovely and are just a little bit different from your typical collection-of-shiny-things-with-metal type dangly earrings. A unique and beautiful piece!
