The fabric is thick, but not bulky. It was perfect for a night out in San Francisco (usually ~50 degrees fahrenheit), since it was warm enough on its own such that I didn't have to wear a jacket. Like other reviewers have said, it's short, but not short enough to cause you to worry about it all night.
