The fit was appropriate and the dress does a good job of covering the stomach area, if you feel like you need some room there. Despite being 5'9 and the recommendations saying that I should order a long, I stuck to a regular and also because I think the long wasn't available. I'm not a fan of long dresses because they get in my way when I want to dance, which for me is in any social occasion. So as you can see in the picture the bottom of the dress hit above my shoes, which were 3 inches. My husband thought I looked good in it, so that was sufficient for me. The material is very comfortable and doesn't wrinkle which is always a bonus.
