The dress fits true to size. I am short waisted, however, so I usually have to get my dresses altered to lift the top a little. Because of this, I conciously stood up straighter and held my shoulders back... which seemed to occasionally unhook one or two of the top hooks. Despite that, I was able to wear this dress without a bra and feel comfortable at a semi-formal event. Great dress!
