The material was thick enough where is wasn't unflattering to a woman my size. I definitely wore spanx though! I got several compliments on the dress and didn't feel uncomfortable in it at all. I'm a full bust and more length in legs than midsection and I didn't think it was too low cut or too short. I thought it was worth my money. The only note I have is that the color of the sequins is not as bright as pictured... it is more a brass/dull gold. It was REALLY hard to find jewelry to match!
