On the size 4 the strap fit really snug under my arm! It almost made me want to wear the size 6. However I am small up top so the tight fit benefited me and left no bulge for bra showing. However the 6 was more comfortable, if you are between a B and C it would probably fit better. The gathering at the waist diminishes the sight of any potential love handles which makes this dress a universal gown for many shapes. The sequins can be a little itchy around the arms.
