I wore this to the George Washington University Inaugural Ball. A lot of people there were wearing long gowns but I felt perfectly appropriate wearing this shorter dress. This was very comfortable and it was not fussy at all. I wore a normal bra and didn't have to worry about it showing at all. The sequins did not chafe or itch against my skin. I am a true zero in most things and I felt the dress fit but that it ran the tiniest bit large. It would work well with most body types, on both curvy and straight figures. I would definitely recommend it for a cocktail party or any formal event as it can easily be dressed up or down.
