I ordered this dress for a work black tie dinner event. I am usually a 14 in most dresses but read that the suggested second size be a size larger. I emailed RTR about being able to order the 14 and also get the 16 as a back up size (as that is not an option in the website). The staff was quick to respond and really awesome to accommodate my request. And I'm thankful they did because the 14 fit but was snug around my waist. There would have been no room for my fancy dinner... I ordered the long because I wore 5 inch heels and the dress hit at a perfect length. It was difficult to walk up and down stairs because the dress is very flowy and long, just make sure you gather it all up so you don't step on it and trip. It feels like your a princess when you're wearing this dress! I wish I could keep it.
