It's important to stress that this dress is made of a thick white canvas type of cotton. When it arrived, the pleats on the front had not been pressed, so they were all bunchy, bubbly and big, which was NOT flattering on. I ironed them down, which helped the dress lay flat, as it's meant to. I had a few issues with this dress. The first was that it arrived with a black stain on the front. Also, the lining of my dress was torn in places, it's lined in a cotton jersey similar to t-shirt material. The tears were more like holes, but there are many of them. The size 6 dress I received also had a small tear on the back, along a seam. The zipper pulls are missing paint now, which makes the dress look a bit old. All in all, I was disappointed, as the color was a slightly dingy white (suggesting maybe it's seen better days), it had holes/tears (old) and chipped zipper paint (old).
I found the dress ran a bit small, I can fit into a J.Crew size 4 easily and normally wear a 6. The 6 on this dress was quite snug on me, through the back as well as thru the bum, and I don't have a huge bum. My back-up size (8) did not arrive as it was "unavailable", which was a BIG disappointment. Emily was *wonderful* in customer service and really tried to help me, but what I really wanted was this dress in an 8. All in all, I'd pass on this dress. I think it's seen better days. Love the cut though!
