The dress fit perfect. I was a bit nervous initially because I am large in the bust area, but they felt secure. The 12 did seem a big stretched in the bust and required me to keep pulling it up all night so my bra wouldn't show. Everything else was perfect. It felt great in the waist and I loved the way it flowed when I walked.

I cannot really tell you if this dress fits "true to size" because I was 9 months pregnant when I wore it. I can tell you though that it is beautiful, comfortable, and a great choice. All of the reviews about the swishy feel of the skirt are true. You can wear this even when SUPER PREGNANT, however there is a slit up the front that isn't designed for giant bellies. I had to hold the fold closed in an elegant way while walking : ) I am 5'6 and wore flats-the regular length was perfect (but keep in mind that my stomach shortened the overall length).

This was my first Rent the Runway experience and I was so happy! With my bust size, the dress top was a tiny bit tight for me, but it still looked stunning. I could have probably gone one size up. I absolutely loved the color of the waistband, and the bottom of the dress was flowy and beautiful -- very pretty walking down the stairs. Do beware -- there is a slit in the back that is quite high and could show more than you want in the breeze. (You could take care of it with a few temporary stitches in the seam with black thread.) The dress photographs beautifully, especially if you have a little bit of a tan. Overall I was VERY happy with this dress and felt great all night.

Unique dress, without being over the top!

Fit well on top. Slightly loose at the top of the zipper, but I think this was because it was a little stretched out. It was sort of wide under the blue ribbon as some reviewers said, but didn't make me look too large. Overall, very happy with the dress. I would rent it again! I wore 4 inch heels and the back grazed the ground.

Wore this to a formal gala in a mansion in the Upper East Side, and it totally calmed my nerves---such an elegant, modern gown. Don't be fooled by how simple and seemingly plain it looks---the skirt is actually a bit sheer, has a gorgeous slit, and flows like liquid when you walk. The nude top is subtly beautiful, and the blue waist highlights it all perfectly. Loved this gown and felt beautiful seemingly without trying!

There are two high slits - one in the front and one in the back. The dress is very flowy and managing both slits was sometimes dicey! Thankfully the wedding festivities I attended were all at one indoor location, so I wasn't too concerned about a wardobe malfunction. The dress is also VERY long. I ordered the 8L and wore 4/5 inch heels and the dress grazed the floor. Perfect dress for the taller ladies as the other L dresses I ordered would not have worked for my height if I planned to wear heels higher than 2 inches. RENT THIS DRESS. It was incredible.

Rent the Runway brought the runway to reality. I loved wearing this dress all the while celebrating a happy couple in love.

Yigal Azrouel knows just how to dress a woman- one with curves, one who doesn't skip out on that slice of pizza to fit into a dress for a wedding. To feel sexy and classy at the same time, his dresses make me feel like I own it. Thanks to RTR, this dress was the ideal choice for me for a black tie optional wedding. I channeled Angelina with the long slit up front (and back of the dress) but still felt demure like Aniston. It was the perfect balance - I was mad about this mod dress. The black material is long and flowy, with an ethereal feel to it. It wasn't constricting - I could dance around and still have fun. My only concern, with 3 inch heels, this dress was still a little long. I might have been better off with the R(regular) instead of the L(long) as I was getting caught in the fabric.

While I could have used another inch in the waistband, the dress fit like a second skin. This was my "second choice" dress that quickly became the frontrunner as it was was so cool, modern and unlike anyone else's dress. I will say that for a short gal like me, this was too long but not unmanageable - it did pool on the ground a bit, but because of the slits you could walk easily, and the dress would just flow behind you dramatically. So cool.

The reviews for this dress are pretty accurate. Definitely size up if you're busty. I go between a 34C and 34D and I wear a size 6. I got the 6 in a backup size and it was on the wrong side of snug. The waist is snug and there is plenty of room in the hips. I thought the fuller skirt made me seem larger on the bottom that I really am, but I got over it because the dress was so comfortable. If you were preggo and showing a little this dress would hide that perfectly. The skirt flowed like liquid and made me want to walk from one end of the ballroom to the other so I could show off how it moved. I never had any issues with the slits on the front or back. The dress is very long. I wore 4 1/2 inch heels and still had to use a temporary hem. The blue accent is the perfect pop of color. The dress is very simple, but extremely well made. The perfect opportunity to accessorize and make it your own. The only major complaint that I had with it is the exposed zipper on the side. I thought it made the dress look a little cheap. Be careful of the top because it snags easily. My backup size had a lot of visible snags on it, which made it look used. Overall I loved it.

I ordered this dress in both a size 2 and a size 0 and ended up wearing the size 0. Because of the design, it's roomy in the hips, so when choosing a size consider your top half. I'm about 5' 3 1/2" and wore it with 3 inch heals. It was slightly too long, but not long enough to make it unwearable. It's an absolutely beautiful dress. It feels and looks expensive and it's actually very comfortable. I would highly recommend it for a black tie event.

I rented a size four and really wish I would have chosen a smaller size since it runs big and long! Also, I was dissapointed that the zipper was a beige color since it contrasted horribly with the black of the dress (almost made it look cheap). I would consider renting this dress again.

I did not wear the dress, due to the top being too small, but I would have worn it, if it fit! The dress material was fabulous, not cheap at all. The only thing I didnt like is that the zipper shows on the side, it is a zipper that shows where the sizes should be inside the dress, but they are not? Maybe that is the new thing in fashion? No hiding the zipper on this dress it is right ther on the side for everyone to see! The dress fit true to size, I am a 34D and the size 8 was a tight fit on top but it fit. If you have bigger bust you might want to size up for your back up size. I suggest sizing up for your back up size anyway since this was true to size but more on the small size up top. The dress does poof out at the hips and while some say it might not be flattering, for me it covered the areas that I wanted covered, if your midsection is an issue, this is the dress for you! This is a very nice dress, different, classy and perfect for a black tie event. Slit not that high or bad as it looks in photos, the way the dress is made there is plenty of material where your leg isnt hanging out. Overall happy with the dress, too bad it didn't fit.

It was slightly large in the bust and I had to use double sided tape so that my bra would not show. It is VERY long (I wore 3 inch heels) and hard to maneuver when walking because there is a slit in the front and back. I thought these slits would make things easier but I under-estimated how much material I had to gather up in order not to trip. I received tons of compliments and felt absolutely fabulous. My advice is to rent it and be super careful when walking! You won't regret it.

I rented this dress for a garden wedding. The bottom half of the dress poofs out around the hips and thighs a little more than it looks in the picture so it was just very unflattering. Very modern dress but still makes a girl feel pretty. The skirt flows well and actually has a pronounced slit to the side that adds a bit of sexiness to the skirt and breaks up the black. I wore this to a gala at the NYC ballet and it looked lovely. Very much recommend.

I ordered this dress very last minute and didn't realize it has a pretty dramatic slit in the front and back. The way the slit flows open is definitely the best part of the dress. The top is a very fine fabric so shapeware is ideal and if you're busty you're going to need to go a size up.

I fell for this gown the moment I saw it- perfect to flatter my body type! It was true to size, but I would recommend sizing up for your back up! The material was silky and the fit really comfortable. I ended up going with a style a little less formal for the wedding, but I can't wait to wear this gorgeous gown to my next formal affair! You can wear a standard strapless bra, and there is a really fun slit in the middle of the dress that comes just past your knee!
