(I'm in the middle) It was prom and i didn't want your typical dress, and this definitely wasn't it.

This was my dream dress. It matched my hair perfectly! I tried it on in the Vera Wang Manhattan store before buying and noticed it ran very large, not that I mind, it's nice to wear a 4 rather than an 8 every once in a while. My one and only complaint about this dress was that the fitting was a tiny bit off. I found it extremely hard to find a bra to wear with this gown that wouldn't be exposed by the delicate draping. The dress itself was a little long on me as well, I'm 5'6" and wore 6" heels and it was long. Other than that, absolutely spetacular!

gorgeous one-of-a-kind dress

there were a lot of people dressed up at my event, and my dress was the most unique by far. you have to play with the sashes to get the right draping, but once you do it's so flowy and romantic. the back didn't come down nearly as far on me as it does on the model, i wore a regular strapless bra. it's low cut, but the sashes give you some modesty, and you can adjust them for more or less coverage. the front of the dress came right down to the tops of my shoes (i wore flats), but the back was a bit longer, so i would suggest a slight heel if you're 5'6'' and wearing the 10R, or you could just be aware like I was. besides the beautiful dress, it was so much fun telling people i was wearing Vera Wang. can't get much better than that!

Customer service was fabulous and I felt like $2,000 wearing this dress (in fact - this is the most expensive dress I've ever worn including my wedding dress!)

I'm 5'4.75" and I ended up wearing small wedges with this since the length does run a bit short. The draping was gorgeous on this dress and it fit perfectly. I also like the fact that it has a side zip to add that extra coverage. Because of the top draping/layering piece, it was able to give me sufficient coverage and I would recommend wearing a low back bra if you even wear one at all. I was able to just drape over my regular strapless bra so it wasn't showing. The dress was comfortable and felt/looked beautiful.

I rented this dress for my mom to wear to her surprise graduation party! I rented the dress and had it waiting for her before the party to wear, she looked absolutely gorgeous! Low in the back, we had to find a low bra for her to wear and pinned it in the back. And it was difficult to figure out how to tie in the front. But she said she felt very comfortable and beautiful in it! We also rented the deck your neck pearl necklace that looked great together!

Am so glad I chose this dress! It's more navy in person ( the photo seems slate grey), but it is very flowy with the chiffon drapes. Felt like a million bucks and got loads of compliments. I probably could have gotten a 6, but was fearful of the length, with my height and heels. The wrapping detail made it visually interesting and I could tighten it up. So glad I found you!

Runs large!

This dress runs very large. I usually wear a 10 in dresses (hips), so I went with a backup size of 8 since other reviewers commented on the dress running large. My 'magical fashion experience' was rather hilarious as it looked like I was a kid wearing my mom's dress. With the magic of pins, I was able to cinch about 5 inches around the rib cage. This pulled the bodice up better (no more j-lo circa 1999) and made the dress look fantastic. The color is definitely dark navy. It was the most comfortable dress I've ever worn to a formal function, and it photographed well. My husband said that I looked amazing. I would definitely recommend on the caveat that you order down on the size, especially if you have a smaller bust/rib cage.

Pretty but too large and confusing

I don't know why but for whatever reason, I could not get the dress to look the same way as the model. Not only that, but the top part of the dress was too long and would not cover up my bust. Hopefully RTR would pre-tye the dress just so others can get a general idea on how this dress should be properly worn.

A little compliacted

I really wanted to wear this dress, but it wasn't meant to be. This dress was really complicated to wrap so that the draping is correct. I honestly needed an instruction sheet. I didn't end up wearing the dress, even though I think that it is a really very special dress. The color is stunning. I probably just needed a stylist at home with me to make it work. It could be operator error, but I had another friend assisting and she couldn't figure it out either. Also, I usually wear a 4, and the 2 still gave me plenty of room, so size down.

Beautiful draping, elegant and sophisticated cut, perfect color, great material. The dress's draping was flattering and sexy, but it didn't show off excess cleavage, so it was the perfect classy gown that didn't become matronly. The fabric was gorgeous and didn't come out of the box wrinkled. I'm 5'11" and had to wear flats because the dress just hit the ground. I was at a 'white tie' wedding with a lot of beautiful and expensive couture, but I received heaps of compliments and by the end of the night the girls just kept gushing how much this one was their favorite. I wish I owned it!
