This dress, as others describe it, does not hug your body and is not meant to. What makes it great is the open back. I thought it was a great mix of conservative yet sexy. Some things to note: you cannot wear a bra with this dress, the sleeves were tight and I have tiny arms. It could've been a tad longer - the length was perfect for my hight, but if it were even the slightest bit shorter I think it would have been too short - so tall girl beware.

I rented both the XS and S.  The XS ended up too short on my frame, so I ended up w/the S, which hit about 3 to 4 inches above my knee.  Open back was great touch.  The process of renting this was an absolute breeze.  Would recommend using RTR to anyone considering.  Well worth not having to look for a dress for a special occasion. 

I rented this dress for a friend's bachelorette party and absolutely loved it! When I first tried it on I was a little worried because it is more so for a winter event because of the lining and long sleeves but it ended to being great for a cool spring evening. I would absolutely rent this dress again it had just enough shimmer!

I am obsessed with this dress! I usually wear more form fitting dresses, but i loved this when i saw it online and ended up loving it even more in person! I paired it with a magenta shoe which popped against the navy. I definitely recommend this dress!  

I wore this dress to my boyfriend's law school Barrister's Ball last April. It was the perfect solution for a cool evening in Alabama with plenty of comfort to dance!!

Shift shape is perfect for those of us who are a little self conscious about the tummy area--it wasn't too tight but not super baggy, either. Sleeves were a little tight but I hardly noticed, and I think the length was perfect (could've been a little shorter, honestly, hah)! Back slit length allowed for me to wear Spanx underwear without it showing. You do of course need a sticky bra if you're larger chested but I think it was worth it! The XL wasn't available, but the L fit great. I wore it with the Ella Carter Sidney earrings and they looked perfect with the look. I definitely recommend this dress!

I loved this dress and wish I owned it! I read the reviews before renting and everyone said that it runs large...they should've said very large! I'm typically a medium so got the small as a backup size and even that was big. RTR was very helpful and able to send me the XS by the night of the event. All in all it was a great dress, super comfortable (wasn't too tight in the stomach area which is my problem spot), and relieved lots of compliments! It was a little short but because of the long sleeves I didn't feel as if it was inappropriate. Highly recommend! 

This dress was my first RTR experience and it was awesome. I love, love, love the way this dress was fitted at the hip but slightly loose in the belly. The back of the dress was gorgeous and flattering. I did not wear a bra and for being a tall girl the dress was not too short. I did want to keep this dress! The medium fit as well but was a little tighter in the arms and shorter so being 5'10" I decided to wear the large. Definitely a recommend for tall girls with hips, the dress definitely has stretch to it.

This dress was awesome, fit well and was not too hot for a high school homecoming dance. The back was gorgeous and looked great with my hair up. Only downfalls were the shoulder area gets a little baggy in the front of the dress. If you have long arms and long legs as well the sleeves are a bit short and so is the dress, but it wasn't too noticeable or too short for it to be sleazy. But over all got so many compliments of how classy and gorgeous it looked!

This dress was perfect for a winter wedding! I got tons of compliments, especially about the back of the dress. The small fit me perfectly. It was very comfy and easy to dance in. 

I wore this dress for NYE and it was perfect! It fit me like a glove and was extremely comfortable all night.

I rented the XS and S for NYE this year. I agree with a lot of other comments that this dress ran a bit large, which is why I went with the XS. It fit perfectly in the hips and waist, but was a bit snug in the arms. I will definitely rent this dress again!

I rented this dress for a NYE party. All I can say is this dress was absolutely PERFECT. I'm 5'10" and the length of the dress was just right, although slow dancing with my boyfriend was difficult when I raised my arms, since I didn't want my toosh to show. Other than that, this dress was easy to move in and SO comfortable. The inside is lined with a soft material so the sequins aren't itchy at all. The open back is more of a slit but it still looked sexy. I got compliments all night with girls asking where I got such a beautiful dress. I wish I could have kept it, it was that great. Another thing I liked about it was that it wasn't tight in the tummy area. I can honestly say this dress is made for any body type because it's so flattering & forgiving. I ordered a M and a L but ended up wearing the M because it fit just right. I could've imagined the L would have been way too baggy. This was my 2nd RTR experience and it was just as easy as the 1st time. Rent this dress ladies! You won't be sorry :)

I LOVED this dress!!  Almost everyone I saw complimented me on it at the wedding - it was perfect for a winter event!!  Super sexy.  I wore tights day-of and the back was still cut high enough that you couldn't see the top of them.  I was really worried about the length since people said it ran short, but I'm 5'8" and felt fully covered.  Definitely rent if you're looking for a sassy dress!

This dress was formfitting but not body con tight which was perfect! It was so comfortable and easy to wear, the sparkles we're perfect for a masquerade formal!!!

The dress was beautiful and yet comfortable. I am 5'1" and the dress went down to just above the knees. I also have an apple body type and it felt very comfortable because it wasn't tight around the tummy area. 

I wore it for a friend's 30th birthday dinner and drinks in NYC. The sequins were sparkly,  but not super in your face. It fit really well, and I did not even wear Spanx underneath, although they probably wouldn't have hurt.

Fits true to size, I am a small and the small fit. I didn't need to wear a bra but I did anyway. It wasn't too long or too short or too long. It's lined so it feels nice on and not scratchy. Really beautiful dress.

I loved the fact that this dress is 'backless'.  The long sleeves balanced out the length of the dress.  

 The dress was a great fit and length. Loose enough to not feel self concious and below fingertip length so i didn't feel like I was showing too much leg for a formal family event but I didn't feel overly covered up. The dress was also very light weight so i didn't feel weighed down by the sequins. The sequins were also not the kind that get caught on things easily, like i have experienced with other sequin dresses in the past. 

This dress is meant to fit as a shift style(fitted in arms but looser body). The color is gorgeous and the back slit paired with the long sleeves created a perfect fashion marriage! I wore this to a community fundraiser where I was representing my work organization, so I opted for black tights because the dress is a little short (I'm only 5'2). The dress was comfortable, BUT every time someone slid their arm around me (including some VERY prominent people in my community), their hand would slip inside of my dress! Slightly awkward, but wouldn't prevent me from wearing again.

Fits as described in reviews (loose in the body but fitted in the arms). Felt like a rockstar all night and couldn't believe how easy and enjoyable the entire process was. Amazing experience!

I was worried about the length from the reviews I read, but it was perfect and no problem at all. I could dance, bend and sit comfortably. The arms are a little tight, but not uncomfortably so. This dress was perfect for the fall wedding I was in.

so my husband and I got invited to a really fancy wedding in CA, I am 21 weeks pregnant and believe or not its not so easy to find a dress not only cute but also fits my body figure. 
Here it is, I originally chose a size xs since I was a size 0 before pregnancy, but just in case, I ordered s as a backup. I am so glad that I did this because xs actually feels a little snuggle around my belly. so I did go with the larger size. It was perfect! Not too hot in the daylight and warm enough for the outdoor reception dinner. Great dress and definitely great experience!

The dress fit perfectly and the back added just enough sexy to it. It was also very comfortable and because its not tight fitting I didn't have to wear all of those female undergarments. Very pleased

Everything about this dress was perfect! The arms were tights, but not unbearable...I maybe could have tried a size up for looser arms/a bit more length, but I was happy with the rest of the fit so maybe not. The dress is fairly short- so take that into consideration! Wore this for an evening wedding, held at a beach club- and it was perfect! 

This dress fit like it was made for me and was probably the most comfortable "fancy" dress I have ever worn.  I wore it for the CMA Awards and between the pre-party, the show, and the after parties, I had to wear it for around 11 hours and I was never uncomfortable.  I got so many compliments on how sexy it was.  I really felt fantastic in this dress!

I loved this dress!  The open back and sequins made it fun and sexy, but the long sleeves and loose cut kept it from being trashy.  At 5'11" I was worried it would be too short, but the hem was fingertip length.  The sequins weren't scratchy at all.  

Dress runs large in the body but because it was so short I had to go with the medium. At 5'8 the small nearly showed my underwear when I lifted my arms. It's a great fabric and a great cut through the shoulders. I had to go bra less since you can't wear the nubra  while nursing but the dress hid my new baby tummy. The first one they sent me smelled questionable but when I called they had a replacement at my house by noon the next day. I loved the experience and am hooked on RTR!

It IS short and I'm short.  If I were to raise my arms, I would have exposed myself.   And be prepared: you have to go bra-less or get special undergarments.  I wore a push up bra with adhesives, and it was fine, but required one adjustment halfway through the event.  The open back is subtle and sexy.  Any shape could wear this.  I am largest in my middle and the fit was very slimming.  Fantastic color and looks great in photos.  TONS of compliments. 

This was my first rent the runway experience and it was excellent! I received compliments on this dress all night long and felt amazing in it. The XS fit me great and wasn't too short. I loved everything about it!

Absolutely loved this dress. The arms were a little tight, but I'm pretty broad in my shoulders and have muscular arms. Overall comfortable and perfect for a fall wedding.

I love this dress! It got a lot of attention from the boys on the dance floor ;) I got so many compliments from my friends on the dress, and it looked fantastic! And as others have said, the arms are a bit tight, but not too bad! Would definitely rent a dress again. 

I liked the xs better then the small. I feel like this dress should fit tighter!! I wore black heels with it too. The small was a little more comfortable but it was a little too long and baggy for me. I went with the xs!! It's a great dress for colder weather but dancing all night I was a little hot with long sleeves didn't matter though...it still was the best dress I have ever wore! I'm addicted to rent the runway now!! I will never buy a dress again unless it's from rent the run way! Five stars from me.

This dress is absolutly stunning! Very comfortable and easy to move in, a little short so have to watch your dance moves! I loved the color and sparkle, it was perfect for a New Years Eve celebration!

I wore this to my sorority formal and it was a huge hit! Easy to dance in and it retained its shape throughout the night. The one drawback is how the sequin latches on to your hair, so next time I'd opt for a different hair style! 

Loved this dress! It fit perfectly as it is somewhat of a swing dress so as to not be tight around the abdomen. The slight open back is really pretty too. Photographed amazingly for my engagement pictures!

This dress was perfect for my school's winter formal. It was classy in the front and sexy in the back, sparkly enough that I stood out but not so much that it was blinding and obnoxious. I got compliments all night. It was also super comfortable and hid my stomach (problem area). The only less than awesome part was the back seemed a little loose and kind of hung out. I had to use a safety pin to make the open back area slightly smaller/tighter.

I absolutely loved this dress, although I could tell that it was well loved by others from a few loose sequins and threads here and there. Overall, the dress was in pretty good condition though. The sequins were not scratchy like some other sequined dresses I've worn, which was a welcomed surprise. I liked that it wasn't super tight and there was definitely space to move and dance in it it as well. 

I wore this dress as a bridesmaid in a wedding, the bride let us pick our dresses, only requirement was they needed to be navy - RTR to the rescue! I ordered both the small and XS and ended up wearing the XS as I liked the fit better. The only negative was the arms were pretty tight in both the small and XS, the small was slightly larger in arm size but not enough to make to choose to wear that one. I loved the overall fit/style of this dress , it was loose on my stomach so no need to suck in all night but fit around the legs and butt to make them look great. 

Dress fit great! I was worried the dress would be too short for my event but it was the perfect length. I am a little wider in the hips then up top so I was nervous the dress would ride up like some dresses do but I found myself rarely tugging down on the dress. It was very comfy and a nice fit. Like some of the other reviews the arms were a little tight, more so on the lower half of the arm. It was difficult to sort of push them up because of the tightness but it wasn't a bother. I got lots of compliments on the back of the dress. Would definitely rent the dress again!

The fit was a little awkward. I have larger biceps/arms and it was a little tight in the upper arm area. I wasn't sure about the XS or the S. I managed to get the XS on, but that was it. NO DICE. The S fit pretty well. I imagine I would have like the fit even better if I didn't have a butt. Or thighs. If you don't have a backless bra - make sure you get one that will SUPPORT you. Mine worked great, but without it, the dress flattens you in an unflattering way. I liked where the hem hit my legs. I'm short, so the dress wasn't too short. I felt glam and was complimented on the dress. *My husband LOVED that he could reach right in and touch my back during dinner. ;)

The dress was really pretty! I ordered an extra small because there was no smalls available. The torso section fit perfectly, but the arms were really tight and the open back didn't sit the way it should. I wish I had been able to at least try on the small because I'm sure it would have been more comfortable for me. Ultimately, I wore the dress and received lots of compliments! I loved the way it looks in photos and didn't have to continue to adjust it all night. It was perfect to ring in the new year in! 

I was thrilled to order and wear this sequined dress! It's beautifully made and fits just as well. The 2 allowed a little more room in the arms than the size 0 so I went with that. The long sleeves were great for our breezy balcony, but also comfortable indoors and for dancing. They also balance out the short skirt nicely! Highly recommend this dress!

The fit was great and wasn't too tight on mid section.  The one con was that if you took the dress off or on the sequins got stuck in your hair :(

I wore this dress to my work holiday party. I received compliments all night. It fit well, but I wore the medium as the arms and chest were a little tight. I loved the open back, but it wasn't too crazy that I felt uncomfortable seeing my boss and VPs that night. I loved that it was navy. I looked different than everyone there. Wish I could have kept it! 

Fit was true to size although if you are on the taller side the sleeves may be a tad short. Super comfy and just the right length. 

This dress was amazing! I'm not a flashy gal, but I felt so sexy in this dress. It hugged in all the right places and shows all your curves without being scandalous. The back is fantastic, and added the wow factor. I rented it again for a party I'm going to, that's how much I liked it. Also my sister loved it so much on me she decided she wants to buy it. 

The dress was comfortable, and hugged my hips without being too restrictive. The sleeves weren't too tight, the body fit perfectly, and the sequins were all intact! The dress is stunning in person, I got endless amounts of compliments all night long. I recommend an updo if you've got longer hair, so that it doesn't catch the sequins! I'm petite (barely 5'1) and have a small frame, which is probably why the dress is longer on me than on the model, but no complaints here! 

I almost didn't wear it because it was not very fitted through the torso.  My husband and daughter liked it better than my other option.
Getting a little worn, I could tell it has been worn quite a few times but unless you see the lining no one would know.

I would have gone with a Medium, but this was super last minute; it was still super gorgeous and the only con I would have would be that your hair will get stuck in the sequins of the dress if you leave it down like I did. Overall, I received many compliments and it was a great dress!


First, this is an awesome dress! I received so many compliments. I wore the medium. I'm 5'9 and my weight fluctuates between 150-155. It fit perfectly! A little short but no problem. I'm a 34 B and did not wear a bra- totally fine. I will rent again!

The fit was perfect! The only cons I would say are if your arms are bigger think about getting a size up just in case. If you wear your hair down (like I did) it will get caught in the sequins but its livable. I also have broad shoulders so the upper back isn't hang as it did in the picture but it still looked fine. It photographs beautifully and is super comfortable!

Dress fit true to size... I wish the XL was in stock since I'm  three months pregnant. The dress wasn't as "shifty" as I expected but it still worked out well. The dress had lots of stretch to it which I was pleasantly surprised by. Overall I was very happy!

The dress was great! I received compliments all night long! Some shift style dresses can hang like a bag on me, but this dress was lose and had enough shape to complement my figure. The arms fit, but I have really slender arms so it could be an issue for others. The dress was the perfect length when my arms were down, but raising them above my head causes the dress to be very short!

I wore this dress to my company's Masquerade Ball and I loved it! The dress ran a little big in the tummy area but fit really well everywhere else. I agree with the other reviews that the arms were a little tight but stretched out throughout the night. The color was so pretty and photographed beautifully. The back cut out made it impossible to wear a regular bra, but it was such a fun detail! I received so many compliments all night. 

This dress was very pretty, flattering, and comfortable. 

I normally wear a size 8 and I ordered the medium and the large for a friend's wedding. The large ended up being too baggy in the mid section and the peekaboo back. I normally NEVER wear a dress this fitted, but this fit is so flattering! One thing I will say is that's wish were different is that I found the sleeves to be about a half inch short. I am not particularly tall (5'5) but I do have longer legs and arms. This dress has just enough sparkle and would be great for a fancier wedding or holiday party. 

If you have larger hips definitely size up! The arms are snug too. The dress was comfortable and warm for an outdoor fall wedding!

This dress was beautiful and I received a ton of compliments.  I bought a backless bra last minute at Kohl's that had adhesive on the sides and had (removable straps that went over my shoulders... It worked out really well for it to have the additional straps.)  I ordered the small and medium dresses and was definitely happy with the medium... but would have been curious to try on the large.   I think that I ideally might have worn a large - because my chest was too big for the opening in the back to lay flatly like it was supposed to.  (So technically my larger chest made the back lay differently than it does on the model.)  Overall - I was so happy with this dress and will def consider renting it again!  

I am petite - 5'2 105lbs so the dress wasn't as fitted as it shows on the model. I loved it though! The room we took pictures in was dark, so the picture doesn't do it justice!

This dress was outstanding. It stood out from the crowd and was perfect for an outdoor fall wedding in the south. It sparkled and shined all night. It had a unique, open back that made it interesting. It accentuated the bum while hiding my stomach (which is my problem area). I could eat and drink in it, which is the biggest thing I look for in a wedding dress! I got compliments all night! 

The only reason I give it 4 stars is because it could be a little short on someone who's not petite. I'm 5'3" and I still found myself pulling it down in between dance numbers. The sleeves were also a little tight compared to the rest of the dress, but I also have kind of muscular arms. Other than that, this dress was absolutely perfect! 

The large was too big and the medium was a little bit on the short side but I went with the medium and loved it!

This dress fits true to size.  It's fairly loose in the body and slightly tighter at the bottom, around the thighs. As others have mentioned, the sleeves are tight, which makes getting it on and off a bit tricky. I pushed the sleeves up a bit to wear them bracelet length. All in all, it's a fabulous dress.  Fun, flirty, and classy. Loved it!

It was shorter than I usually wear but if it was longer I don't think it would've been as flattering.  It was a little itchy because of the sequins but I dealt with it. I felt so good in it and received so many compliments too!

The whole process was super easy being delivered to the hotel. It fits true to size. The back is open and really adds to the dress without having to do a ton of accessories.

I wore this dress for my friend's 30th - the theme was "boat shoes, bubbles, and bling."  The dress ran true to size - although it was a tad short...and it wasn't a perfect fit but it was perfect for the event! 

The dress is very forgiving and comfortable. After having a baby, I wanted to feel sexy again. This dress helped me do that. 

This ran a bit large and wasn't quite as close to the body as I hoped.  You may want to order down in your size choices. 

One of my favorite rentals.  I got so many compliments on this dress.  It was comfortable and a great style.  I rented the XS and S but ended up wearing the Small.  The XS did fit, but I thought it was a little too short for a formal wedding.  Highly recommend this dress!!
