This fit well, stayed up, and was a really fun color!
This dress was so comfortable to wear -- I did not want to take it off and return it! I got compliments on it all night. I don't normally wear strapless, but this dress fit like a glove. Not once did I feel the need to pull up the top or adjust the dress, which is pretty amazing because I did a TON of dancing. There is boning in the top to make it more secure and structured. It felt comfortable and the boning did not dig in anywhere even when sitting. The color is brilliant and is very close to the picture featured on RTR. The gold dot details are lovely. I was a bit worried about the length when I rented it. I am 5'6 and wore 2 inch heels. The length was perfect for me -- the dress hit the ground, but I was not trampling on the dress. For safety measure, I did tend to pick it up while walking, but that probably wasn't necessary. Bottom line: rent this dress; you will not be disappointed.
I felt beautiful, tall (which I'm not!), and so ladylike! It was great for the wedding and comfortable. Tans look great with the color of the dress.
LOOOOOOOVED this dress and this whole process. So many told me I looked beautiful, glamorous, like Elsa, and more in this dress. I have higher hips so I initially thought the waist area would be really obvious but this dress is extremely flattering and I can't say enough good things about it.
I loved this dress! It felt glamorous, yet the material made it feel light and appropriate for an outdoor wedding. It sparkled brilliantly in photos and on the dance floor. I also appreciated that due to the loose way it hang from the waist, I could eat and didn't have to worry about it being too tight around the middle. Found a great necklace from Forever 21 of all places, that tied the whole look together. I'm glad I did my research and ordered a second size because based on other reviews, I thought the 2R may fit. It was a tad too tight, however, but the 4R fit like a glove! I was also worried about the length of this dress as well because I have a relatively short torso and long legs, but didn't need to be since it grazed the floor perfectly with flats ( I'm 5'10 and wore flats so if you are of similar height and interested in heels you may need to look into a different size). My one complaint is that it was quite tight in the bust. The points on the bust kept digging into my chest to the point that I needed to adjust it every so often. Slightly uncomfortable, but not bad enough to ding it a star. Overall, loved my first experience with Rent the Runway and will definitely use again for the next big occasion!
Was in between 2 and 4, but glad I went with 4. It's very flattering and the color and detail is gorgeous!
The only con is that the dress is short. While perfect for me because I am 5'4" and did not want to wear heels (I wore flats), I would caution taller girls size 4 that the dress might be too short to pair with heels.
I was so excited to wear this dress to a good friends beachy wedding. To dress it down I wore hoops and gold flat sandals and it was perfect! I got compliments all night and it was so comfortable. I didn't have to hike up the top once though I did have to fold the fabric over a piece of boning at the top of my left boob a few times, but it wasn't poking me. I am pretty tall, 5'8", and it was a smidge long in flats, had to hold it up while dancing but I didn't trip over it at all. Only minor complaint was the front part is a bit bunchy and as you can see in the photo, it looks like I am a little preggers though I am very NOT (3 kids is enough for me!) Overall FABULOUS dress, loved everything about it, would wear it again in a second! RENT THIS!
My fav dress rented from RTR hands down. Beautiful, super light and breezy, can be worn to very formal or casual event. All I can say is it's perfect.
Fits perfect, nicely structured top
A little tight on the chest area and also very long even with 5 inch heals. A very fun dress a unique color and in good conditions
I wore this to a formal event with a group of lawyers, most people in black or red. I felt very springy in mint and gold! I have a small chest, and even with a padded bra it was a tiny bit big in the chest, but I wasn't pulling it up or adjusting in the night, it has a very well built top. I am close to 5'8" and with 3.5 inch heels, it was the perfect length. Loved it!
I couldn't decide between this dress and another, but I'm so glad I chose this one! it was absolutely perfect. recommend to everyone!
It fit really well but was a little bit tight on top. It was perfect length with 5 inch heels, perfect for prom
The dress fit really well, I am usually between sizes, so the 8 was too big on the top, I would have needed to safety pin the top, but the six I definitely had to breathe in while zipping. The 6 also had a hard zipper, with some pulled strings in the way, so we had to be careful with it. The dress itself was beautiful though!
I had a baby a month in a half ago and I still have 10 pounds to loose. I am 5'8 and the regular length was long enough and I was still able to wear 3 inch heels. This dress made me feel beautiful and comfortable. I would have added a nice belt if I would have found one. Love the color and rtr!
I was so excited to wear this dress and elated that it fit! I rented the 4R and 6R. I ended up going with the 6R because it was more comfortable and not as tight at the waist. The dress was beautiful in person, the light weight fabric was perfect for an end-of-summer wedding. I think the dress photographed really well and I got a lot of complients on it. The only downside... it was really long on me, but that is to be expected because I am 5'3"!
I've been looking forward to receiving this dress for months, and I was not disappointed! The fabric was light, and perfect for a summer formal. The structure of the top with the boning kept the dress up all night (seriously, I never had to do that awkward pull- up adjustment that you do when you wear strapless things!) and still lightweight enough that I didn't feel suffocated or restricted by it! I was wearing 5 inch heels, so the dress was a little higher off the ground than I expected, but if you are shorter, or wear shorter shoes, you should be just fine!
LOVED this dress! I paired it with Nicolle Miller's Southern Plantation Earrings and Lauren Merkin's Gold Eve Clutch for a friend's wedding in the penthouse at Lincoln Center at NYC. The color & light sparkle in the dress was gorgeous. I received many compliments on it! My only complaint is that the lining of the top showed a bit along the neckline. Also, I am 5' 8" and RTR doesnt have long sizes in this dress. So I had to wear flat sandals with this dress. The color is a little more blue and not as green as the pictures indicate. But other than that, I simply loved this dress! It was extremely comfortable & easy to dance in.
Fit fell in the bodice but I have a long torso so sometimes the waist can seem to ride a little high or bunch up a bit. Otherwise, the 2 fit very securely with a strapless bra, I didn't worry that it would fall off, no tugging up needed. The color was gorgeous. The dress can wrinkle very easily. It came wrinkled in the skirt and I had no time to iron it (don't know if it can be ironed). Also, I am 5'5 and even with 3 inch heels, the skirt was still too long by about half an inch.
This dress is gorgeous! It was originally my backup dress, however, it was so much prettier in person everyone agreed I must wear this one instead. In person the color is so much brighter than shown on screen, very bright baby blue. I am 5'7, about 135 and the 4R fit well. I am tinier on top, pear shaped, so this style is perfect if you are also. I wore flat gladiator sandals and the dress did not drag on the ground. You can easily wear a strapless bra with this style. Be aware the inner corset also has a strap to bind you as well. It took myself and hubby to put it on. It wasn't uncomfortable and I felt it did give the dress a better fit. However if you have a thicker waist, it might be uncomfortable. Online it thought the sparkles in the dress were gold, but actually they are silver and bright. But I still went with my gold accessories and it looked fine. The only disappointment was the dress did come damaged from RTR. It was torn at the bottom from a person who was probably shorter and stepped on it. It wasn't too noticeable since the bottom is a chiffon, pleated style. This dress was perfect for a black tie summer wedding in CA! Highly recommend!
I wore this dress to a black tie gala and received compliments all night. It was so nice to wear something other than black, especially during early spring. I felt like the dress ran a little large. I had to pull up the top all night. I am usually a 12 because I have large hips but this dress was so loose and flowy I could have comfortably worn a size 10. I'm 5'5" and wore 4 inch heels, I felt like if the dress had been 1" longer it would have been perfect, it still worked though. Overall, I was very happy, just wish the size 10 had been available.
The dress was comfortable while standing but the boning was a bit uncomfortable while seated. The dress was true to size. I'm 5'4 and with 4 inch heels the dress was the perfect length. I had rented for my bridesmaid to wear for my engagement photos but unfortunately none of the dresses fit her. I wore this dress to a dinner with my family since I had it. It was very roomy and comfortable in the hips area. I think this would be the perfect look for a summer wedding guest. The customer service of rent the runway is amazing.
I rented this dress as a back up for my sorority's formal, but let a friend wear it because I was wearing my first choice! She usually wears an 8 or 10, so the 12 was obviously loose on her, but she added a silver belt to hold it up. The dress was beautiful and looked great on her!
The color was mint and gold. Chiffon fabric so it was light and airy. Rented 4R and it was actually a little big so I had to make some temp adjustments to it and it worked. Dress is long so you'll need heels unless you're 5'10 and up. Wore 5 inch wedge shoes so the length was almost perfect on me but it still makes you paranoid that you're gonna step on the dress and trip so I have to make sure I lift the dress when I walk or dance. So you have to choose your shoes wisely. I added some temp gold tattoos and gold earrings and overall I was happy with the dress and styling.
I was a little tight through the waist but not uncomfortable. The top was well structured though I wish I would have bought tape to keep it from slipping. The skirt fabric was really light feeling but hung and moved nicely.
I ordered both the 2 and the 4 in this dress. I could zip up the 2, but the top bodice part was digging into my chest - not so much uncomfortable as it was unflattering. The 4 (my normal size) gave me a little more everywhere and was more flattering on top. I'm 5'6" and it was long enough with heels on, but long when I changed into sandals to dance. I got so many compliments all night. Such a beautiful dress & color!
The dress was a gorgeous mint color which is so in right now! I got compliments the whole night and the gold detailing was just enough to jazz up the gown for the event. I did notice the top falling a bit throughout the night but that may have been my fault for assuming I could go braless. Definitely a great dress!
I wore this for prom and loved it! The color is great, leans more towards mint green with gold shimmer. It's pretty long, I had to wear 3.5 inch heels with it and it just touched the ground. Also, the boning at the top and waist gets very uncomfortable by the end of the night and I had red marks there for a few days afterwards. However, the top is flattering and I didn't feel like it was falling down!
Fit: I got a 4R with a 2R backup size. Both sizes fit pretty well. The 2R would have fit with a different bra, but since my strapless bra has some pretty sizeable padding, I ended up wearing the 4R. (For someone comfortable with doing so, I actually think this dress would be okay bra-less.) Both sizes were about the same fit elsewhere, so I would recommend really using bust size to determine the best fit. The dress is very long and definitely should have been worn with heels (I wore flat sandals and tripped a bit). Pros: The fabric is beautiful! The color of this dress was amazing and great for springtime. Cons: The bodice structure of this was really stiff. There's boning structure over the ribs and sides, which help the dress stay in place very well, but it made it very uncomfortable for sitting as the plastic boning dug in to my stomach and ribs.
The dress is so pretty! I achieved mermaid status with this one. I wore sandals covered in metallic gold flowers instead of heels since we were outside the whole time. Since it was so long, I tied the bottom in a drape-y style side knot...gave it more of a cool, casual vibe. The lining wasn't very breathable, but It was fine. However, if it had been truly hot outside, I would have felt muggy. I accessorized with the Gemma Redux White Pearl Waterfall earrings.
The dress was beautiful! I normally wear a size 4 or 6 depending on the item. The size 4 in this dress fit for the most part, but it was slightly tight in the chest/rib cage area. I'm not very busty, so if you are thinking of getting this dress and ARE busty, I'd go up a size. I was lucky the 4 fit for the most part since the size 6 wasn't available. Overall, I loved the dress!
I loved this fabric so much! Super light and shimmery, and totally perfect for a black tie wedding in the middle of the summer. I got complements all night and felt amazing. The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is because of the usual problem I have with Shoshanna dresses – the bodice never seems to fit as tightly as I’d like. Clearly, this doesn't keep me from renting her dresses! But it does leave me with the nagging feeling all night that the dress isn't as flattering as others might be. Totally minor issue, though. Overall, I loved this dress!
I heard about Rent The Runway on the Today Show, and decided to try them out for a formal event. I requested the dress a few days before the event because I was worried it wouldn't be delivered on time, but it arrived on the exact specified date! The dress came in a garment bag, which you can keep, and a pre-paid packaging box with easy instructions on how to return. It was also helpful that the website send me email reminders about when to return. The color is JUST as advertised! Mint green with gold flecks. It's very light weight and airy, sweetheart neckline and flowing bottom. I received so many compliments on the dress, and I proudly told people I rented it! I ordered a 10R and wore it with gold high heels, but it was still touching the floor, which meant I had to pick it up from dragging on a few occasions. I'm 5'7 and I recommend anyone my height or even a few inches taller to get the Regular and not the Long. The only con I have about this dress is the zipper. It gets stuck easily, which makes zipping it very tricky (definitely a two-person job!). I was scared of ripping the fabric or breaking the zipper because it didn't feel very sturdy. I plan to rent another dress from this site later this summer!
I wanted a fancy dress for my senior ball but I also didn't want to buy a long dress that I was only going to wear once. I saw this dress and fell in love right away. I was a little afraid of getting a dress that hadn't been reviewed yet, but I'm glad I took the plunge. The spots are a little more silver than the picture shows, but the minty color online is pretty true. This dress was a little difficult to zip up; the seam kept getting in the way and it was definitely a two person job. Also, the dress had some boning that started poking after a little bit, but it was bearable. It was also a little long for me, but I'm short and wide, so it will probably be ok for girls that are more proportionate than I am. I really liked the look of this dress and got a lot of compliments. It was a great introduction to RTR and I will definitely be renting again.
The dress was a little loose on the top even though I got the smallest size. It was the perfect length for me and I'm a little above average height so it may be slightly long on a shorter person. I loved how different it was, and how sparkly it looked it in pictures.
I loved this dress and the fit was perfect but I felt it didn't portray the mature look I wanted for this wedding so I wore the Erin Fetherston dress instead. The length was very comfortable with 4 inch heels. The bust fit perfectly. I thought the pattern on the dress was slightly too casual for a black tie Napa wedding, however.
The color and pattern was exactly what I wanted. The top was a little constricting and the ribbing in the chest poked up slightly. I'm 5'9" and it was exactly floor length. I couldn't wear heels. It photographed wonderfully and was light and comfortable.
My only complaint is that the dress was too long. I wore 4in heels and it still dragged on the ground. I would say this is a great dress, but if you are short the Regular size is too long!
Beautiful dress. Got lots of compliments. I'm 4'11'' and wore 3.5 inch heels and the 4P, and it still dragged on the ground about an inch, which is what I expected since I'm so short; but I didn't feel like wearing higher heels. I would say the bust would fitter better for a C cup or less; no room for a bra if you're a D cup. It wasn't as flattering when I sat down because it caused some pinching at the armpit, but looked great standing. Felt like the dress needed a belt to add definition where the top tends to pooch out a little.
