I wasn't able to wear this dress due to the fit of the top. My chest did not fit well. The shoulder was not able to sit properly and was up on my neck. The ribbon belt was difficult to keep snapped as was noted in other reviews. The lace fringe was lovely, but a little tricky to lay flat. And the slit is high enough to require special shape wear.

The size 4 would have been the perfect fit for me but it was unfortunately not available. With 4 inch heels, the dress just touched the ground. The belt was very wrinkled and made the dress look a bit christmasy (perfect for a fancy holiday party but not really for a March event). Like several other reviewers, I opted to wear it without the belt and put a sparkly pin over the snap on the waist where the belt attaches it is a very flattering silhouette and comfortable.

I am 5'8" and the dress was a little short with heels in the long. I wore it anyway. Also, the dress runs small. I wear a 2L or a 4L normally, but the 2 was too tight in the waist and even shorter than the 4. The velvet bow snaps on and after a large meal, it unsnapped a couple of times on me. The slit is very high and it was inappropriate for the event that I attended so I had to tack it in place with fashion tape and pins. Overall, I received many compliments on the dress and it looked great, but I was not comfortable in it knowing that the belt could unsnap at any point and the tacked slit could come undone.

The slit on the dress comes up very high, and while sitting I often found it difficult to keep my legs covered. Overall the dress worked well and looked nice. The dress came with only one belt and it was that for the smaller sized dress ordered. I had to end up using pins to keep the belt on.

The dress is such a classy, sexy, and sophisticated black gown with details in all the right places! There was gorgeous lace on the asymmetrical neckline, a long velvet tie around the waist, and a surprise peekaboo slit on the front left of the dress. I am a shorter person and this with heels was off the ground, would have liked to see an extra inch to the hem length. Was a little tight in the neck/shoulder area but fit great everywhere in the mid section. I am a little more broad in the shoulders which might be why it was tighter. This dress was my backup choice but I ended up choosing it for my event because it wasn't as loud as my first choice, and since it was a work event I decided to keep it low key. Overall, gorgeous choice, make it your first choice if you find yourself returning to this dress when searching so you can receive a backup size.

The fit was a bit snug. I am 5'3" usually a 2-4 and I am a 34DD so finding dresses that fit throughout is always a struggle. This dress was perfect! it fit in just the right places without putting an emphasis on my bust (which was a relief to me!). I would recommend this dress to everyone! Very confortable!

Gorgeous! The slit was MUCH higher than I expected. It was super sexy when standing, but quite difficult when I sat down. You could see all the way up to my hip! You cannot wear spanx with this dress.

I rented this dress for a charity ball and it was so gorgeous that I was very disappointed that I had give this up to go with my backup choice. We were in the middle of an extreme heat wave, and this dress was a little too heavy to wear to an outdoor event. Otherwise, the fit and length were perfect! The dress added curves to my otherwise narrow shape, and added intrigue with the dramatic slit and lace touches. I'll definitely rent it again for my next black tie event.

Tricky sizing, BIG slit

I am 5'6" and wear 4" inch heels and I read the reviews about the length of the dress and ordered a 2L and a 4L. The 2L was so short! It was about half an inch off the floor when I was barefoot, there was no way I could wear it, however the size 2 belt was slightly loose on my waist. The 4L on the other hand was a full 4.5 inches longer than the 2L, in my 4 inch heels (making me a little over 5'10"), the 4L dragged on the floor and the size 4 belt was way too big. Thankfully, I was able to wear the 4L dress with the 2L belt and it worked out ok, but be warned about the drastic changes in length from size to size. Additionally, the slit goes very high. It wasn't such a problem when standing, however when sitting, I had to cover myself with my dinner napkin because my leg was exposed all the way to my hip.

I ordered a 2 and 4 to wear to a black tie wedding, but unfortunately I could not wear either size because the dress was too short. I ordered the Regular length and both sizes were a few inches off the floor (I'm 5'5") when I was barefoot - so it looked way too short with heels. It is very pretty and the slit makes the dress more fun since its not revealing on top. There wasn't much difference in either size - both the 2 and 4 fit me. As another reviewer noted, the velvet sash is very tight and snaps, so you cannot adjust it. Fortunately RTR is able to overnight another dress in time for my event so I will have something to wear!

This dress was absolutely gorgeous. What isn't shown in this picture is the slit up the left leg, which really made the dress much sexier! It is very classy looking and slimming, tight on your waist at the bow, and loose everywhere else. I rented the 2L, since I usually wear high platform heels, but it was too long. I am 5'4" and even with my highest shoes I was stepping on it. It definitey does not run short. I also have a 24" waist, and the bow was very snug, which might be an issue for women with wider waists.

I wore this dress to a black tie charity event. It is simple and understated. There wasn't a lot of shape to the dress, especially because I couldn't figure out how to get the bow right so I went without it. For being so tall, I was impressed that the 4L went to the floor. The biggest complaint I have is that there were FOUR other women at this party all wearing my dress in black or purple. Is there any way RTR can have you say what event you are wearing the dress to when you purchase it so that there is some way to track this? If I had known other women had already rented this dress for the same event, I would have picked another option...
