I am a 5ft5, size 4 generally (but in "designer" often a sie 6), 34C and ordered the 4 and the 6. The stretch in the back of the dress helped but a size 2 would have been much better. I was nervous the dress would fall down all night. It was also very long with a slight train on me (perhaps due to length) and I got stepped on many times over the course of the night. Still I loved the dress and recommend it - just size down more than you think!

I was really disappointed that this dress didn't work. I ordered the 4R and it was a mile too long, and also too big in the bodice - the 2 would have fit on the top but wasn't available. I suspect, however, that it would still have been too long. I was SO sad this didn't work as it is beautiful.

I wore this on New Years Eve to a ball. It is SO pretty! I got complements from random strangers and even two waitresses at dinner. However, it runs large because the back is stretchy. For bigger busts, didn't offer a lot of support. But with a strapless bra, it was perfect. I ended up wearing the smaller size (10) but wish I had an (8). But overall, it was really REALLY hard to mail back.

it was huge. even the size 0 was sliding... [feels like i could have gone 2 sizes smaller....if it existed] when people say "forgiving" on the figure, it is probably for more shapely... for myself, it made me look a little larger, but that is to be expected from a non-formfitting dress. it was very beautiful though and i received a ton of compliments that night. super flowy bottom, so it swishes when you walk. careful on stairs though! i wore 3.5" heels with it and it was just the right length!

I don't have a pic of me in this, but the dress is great! The one that was shipped to me was brand new with the tags still on and the color is just like the stock photo. I wish I could have worn it but at 5'7 and with 3 1/2 inch heels, it was still 2-3 inches too long. I should have ordered the 12R instead of the 12L

This dress was huge.. I'm normally in between a four and a six and the four was falling off me. It is because it is stretchy in the back instead of just a zipper. Also the frays were not as pretty in person and the dress looked a little tattered and worn- it's a beautiful dress and looks like it is rented a lot, but I didn't want everyone to know I was renting a dress so I went with my second choice. The color is very pretty and the sparkles are great. It would be a great prom dress, but for a military ball it just wasn't what I was looking for.

I wore this to a black tie fundraiser for the school where I work. I got tons of compliments and felt beautiful all night. For a strapless dress, it was super comfortable, since the back has stretch in the fabric. I'm going to a black tie wedding in June 2013, and I'm thinking of renting it again!

The dress was gorgeous, but a little too large. I was only able to order 1 size so I was unable to wear it and had to return it. However, I received my order very quickly and the store credit was applied to my account as soon as I told them it did not fit. I will definitely use this site again.

Love the dress. It was a bit long but I wore very high heels. Received lots of nice complements on how beautiful the dress looked on me. I usually wear a size 12 but when I read the reviews, I took a risk and ordered a size 10. It was a bit long but than again I am only 5'3. Overall it fit perfect and I felt great wearing it. I would highly recommend "Rent the Runway" dresses.

I normally wear a size 8 for any of the dresses I rent from RTR. Based on customer reviews, I sized down and got a 6 for my backup dress. There is elastic smocking in the back that provides a lot of give and not a lot of support. The six didn't fit comfortably either. If I'm wearing a strapless, I need some support and I think if you try to wear this dress with a strapless bra it might become a bit bulky. RTR's customer service is amazing though and worked with me to find either a right fit for this dress or a dress that did fit. They sent a size 4, but still the elastic smocking in the back didn't work out.

I want to start by saying this is a beautiful and elegant dress. I rented this dress in a 4 because the reviews said that it runs big; however, the 4 would have been perfect except that the dress seemed to be close to its retirement because the top part was pretty stretched out. I had to safety pin it and perform somewhat of a miracle to make it fit and make sure that I wasn't too exposed up top. I rent a lot from RTR and usually have a wonderful experience, but this experience stressed me out! Hope you have better luck. Btw, the necklace is a must, it looks amazing with the dress.

The dress ran large because of the elastic ruching in the top. It was absolutely lovely, and I'd rent it again. The skirt is voluminous, with lots and lots of fabric. And like others have said - rent the necklace. It's perfect with the dress.

I wore this dress to a Black Tie awards dinner for my work. I read several reviews prior to ordering this dress and took heed to te advice of ordering a dress size down! I wore the smaller size and it fit perfectly. I am 5'5" and pretty petite and the dress itself fit but for me the length was a little short and I wore flats...which made dancing in this dress soooo much fun!! The skirt has ALOT of fabric but is really light! The dress was fun to "twirl" around the dance floor! Rent the Runway is so easy and I will use again in the future.

something about this dress screams "party"! received many compliments. you must rent the matching necklace in the picture. the combination is truly spectacular. this dress was comfy too! i'm full busted but was able to go braless due to the structure of the top of the dress. a huge bonus! :)

I loved this dress it fit very well, the elastic inthe bust was a little bit over stretched but not too much. I am not very tall but with my tallest heels it just perfectly kissed the floor and I didnt trip.

This dress was awesome! If it helps: I wear a 32D bra, and usually a 4 or 6 in the pants. The length (with 3-4" heels) was perfect. I got so many compliments on this dress all night long it was great! I also rented the necklace shown on the model which I recommend it really made the outfit come together. One note- the material along top back of the dress is stretchy and tends to make the top larger feeling (and I have a large bust) so if you are a smaller busted gal make sure you size down

Wore this dress for a formal black tie destination wedding. Everyone gave me compliments about the dress (even the bathroom attendant) I wore it also with the necklace... It looks beautiful in pictures! I usually wear size 6, but since I had read other reviews that it ran a little big I ordered the second dress size 4. To my surprise I ended up wearing the size 4.. I am a 36B cup and it was a little bit loose on top; i secured it with the wearable tape and it helped a little. I am 5 feet and wore high heels, the length was perfect (I danced all night long and had a blast)

I wore this gown to a black-tie foundation gala and it was exquisite. It photographed very nicely, and I found the midnight blue to be much richer in person that what is shown on the site. It also has this incredible chiffon detail amidst all the sequins. I would definitely recommend ordering down a size, especially if you have a smaller chest. I normally wear a 4, but the 2 fit perfectly. If there will be dancing involved, this dress is the perfect number, it flowed so elegantly out on the dance floor, I felt like Cinderella moving in it! Just loved it, would rent again!

If you're on the borderline between two sizes get the smaller size because the top is elastic so it's a little larger. The dress is amazing it flows very well but it also has a lot of fabric in the skirt, so it might slip down if its looser on top. You do feel the weight of the dress but it's not so much that you can't dance. I rented this for my prom so I know it moves very well. The sequins also capture the light very well so it is a very photogenic dress!

This dress is beautiful! The fabric is very nice and I personally think it looks better than the picture makes it out to be. I was worried it would be too long but I wore 3 inch heels and it was hovering over the ground a little bit. I normally wear a size 6 but because the top was a little more stretchy, I went with the 4 for a more fitted look but I consider the rest of the dress true to size. I liked the dress because I didn't have to do a lot of adjusting or pulling up which is something I worry about with other strapless dresses. Great rental!

I rented this dress for a major, red carpet awards show. It was so beautiful and I received a lot of compliments on it! I paired it with the necklace in the picture as well, and it was a perfect match! I was very worried about the length due to my height, but both the size 0 and 2 fit perfect with 3.5 in heels. I rented this dress for a Mardi Gras ball and it was perfect! I wore 2-3 inch heels it the length was perfect for my height. I ordered the dress in an 8 and a 10 – they both fit. The only difference to me was the length of the dress (I opted for the shorter one). The back of the dress is a stretchy material so that helped. (I am usually an M top and a 30 Jean size). I hope this helps! Also the dress photographs really well!
