Had a minor setback when RTR didn't have my actual size, but they sent my backup which was one size smaller than I usually wear and it ended up working out just fine! I needed an extra set of hands to get it zipped up over my boobs, but I am top heavy and the fabric relaxed a bit throughout the night. I ASBOLUTELY recommend sizing down, especially if you don't have a big chest. The lace was thick and felt durable enough that I didn't have to worry all night about it snagging or tearing. Such a classic style, I can't say enough good things about this dress!!

I'm normally between a 6 and an 8 and really couldn't tell much difference between the two sizes in this dress. I wore the 6, and while it was a touch tight through the shoulders (I have broad shoulders) the lace loosened up throughout the evening. I didn't love the dress on as much as I did from the pictures, but as soon as hubs saw me in it he said I looked like a celebrity and everyone else raved about to also, so I'm still happy I rented it. I wore it with gold earrings/clutch and black shoes, but a pair of nude shoes looked cute also. (Doesn't need much with it in my opinion) I also wore a standard bra in nude and you couldn't see it under the lace.

Classy, yet Fun & Flirty For A Wedding

I LOVE this dress! All you need is a great clutch and simple earrings, the dress does it all! I had a round, gold clutch and simple gold earrings. If you have muscular arms and a larger bust, you may want to order a size larger than your usual. If you are a C cup and smaller with normal arms, I would order your normal size. I have large muscular arms, and I wore the 6 as the arms stretched out as the night went on. I took another's suggestion and wore a black bra with a thin strap. You couldn't really tell I was wearing a bra with the thick lace overlay, and I didn't feel as though I had a uni boob. The bottom flows out a little, which wasn't too too flattering on my hourglass figure, but this dress was perfect for a wedding. The open back with the lace was flirty and sexy. Thanks RTR! I will be renting again and again!

I wore a strapless bra with this dress. It was perfect with the way the way the neckline was in back no one could tell. I was nervous about not being able to move my arms, I was able to dance on the dance floor and throw my hands in the air with no problem! The dress was super easy to zip up, I was actually able to zip myself in it. I wore it with nude tights (i had thought about it with black ones but it just looked better to me with nude). The dress was perfect with a pair of black heels. I got compliments throughout the night. I loved with fit and the way this dress made me feel! One of my favorite dresses ever!

LOVED this dress - felt glamorous and received compliments all night. I did have to wear a larger size because of the lace that is attached to the arms and chest area. Fit perfectly and was extremely comfortable, which was important since I wore it all day. I loved the half-sleeves for a March wedding. The high neck in the front and open v in the back made it sophisticated and sexy all at once. The lace detailing was beautiful. I loved that this had POCKETS! They were to high to comfortably put my hand in, but it was great for holding my ID. I was able to wear a regular black bra which you couldn't see under the black lace. In my opinion, the dress DEF needed a belt paired with it. I didn't have one since I was out of town, so I bought a spool of black ribbon and tied in the back. It was FABULOUS!

I rented this for a February wedding. It was a great choice - as it was a little more fun than a basic black dress. I rented the 6 and 8 - as people had mentioned how the arms fit tight. The 8 was far too big (I am a true 6 in dresses), and wore the 6. The arms got looser as the night went on, and the length was very appropriate (I am 5' 9"). Great dress that I would rent again! I did add a black belt to it, to provide a bit more structure. I would recommend adding a gold or black thin belt.

Thanks to Rent the Runway, you could get two sizes, otherwise I would have been in trouble (take advantage of this opportunity!). The size 6 was perfect! This is the first time I rented from Rent the Runway. I would consider renting again even if we had a getaway to Las Vegas. RTR was out of my size (10) for the weekend I needed so I got brave and went one size smaller. SO glad I did! This dress fits true to size on top but the pleated waist makes the bottom more forgiving for a girl with curves, exactly what I needed! I felt like Kate Middleton all night long in this awesome lace dress and got so many compliments on it. My husband kept saying "you should rent the runway all the time!" If I hadn't been in an out of town hotel I might have added a belt but I forgot to bring one and I still absolutely loved the look. This dress is fabulous!

I loved this dress, it really is very pretty and sophisticated. I had a formal work event that I needed something of with an appropriate length and sleeves. This dress was perfection. I got both the 4 and the 6, and like other girls have said, the top part has no stretch. While the 4 fit me better through the waist and down, it was very restraining through the chest and arms, so I wore the 6 and I think it worked out perfectly. I had more range of motion to move, and I just added my own belt to give myself more of a waist. My favorite detailing was the dip in the back of the dress. Very classy! I would definitely recommend this dress!

Downtown Classy!

Enjoyed my first RTR experience. Unfortunately, I've gained a little weight (8lbs?) since starting law school PT and working FT, so as other reviewers noted the arms/shoulder are a little tight so I went with the 4. The waist of this dress didn't really hit my waist and with my rib cage being kinda big and straight (it doesn't taper like a narrow waisted hour-glass figure), I needed the bigger size. I loved the quality of the dress and the lace so pretty. The dress has some pleats all around it, but not too flouncy. Wasn't the hubby's favorite since he didn't think it flattered my figure well-enough (didn't show off my butt). Had to wear sheer hosiery - it's MN sub-zero in Jan, couldn't go bare legged. Also found some great unique peep toe heels of suede leather appropriate for the weather! Was going to wear my hair up in a low chignon, to show-off the pretty back - but due to time constraints I was unable to style my hair. Next time, I hope to try something a bit more daring - not a problem to try something you might not normally buy with RTR!

The way the arms are sewn makes it a bit uncomfortable at first, but the fabric does relax. I gained weight so I go the 6 and 8. The six fit perfect after wearing for about 20 minutes. The arms were the exact same on the size 8. I wore the 6 and it fit true to size. The eight was too large around the hip area.

This dress was really pretty in person. The lacy overlay was very feminine and delicate looking. The fabric doesn’t have any stretch and the bust is pretty fitted so I’d suggest to size up if you’re bigger busted. You can also pair it with tights if its colder out, it looks cute either way!

I wore this dress to an inaugural ball in DC, and as others have reported, it was amazing. I am a true size 6 and wore/fit perfect in a size 6. I did not stop receiving compliments all night long and the next day my Facebook kept clouding my phone with positive reviews from friends who saw photos. I highly recommend this rental and the RTR service. Others reviewed that you should definitely use a size smaller for your second choice, I think you should trust your gut and go either way. I didn't try on the size 4, but I think it would've been too small.

I chose this dress for my engagement party as I'm 3 months pregnant and it was the first time I'd have both my fiance's family and mine together so I wanted to be sexy yet conservative. This dress was super comfortable and hid my little bump perfectly. The lace and nude dress underneath are a great compliment to each other, I'm a curvy girl and this hugged all the right places! I really liked the lower back V of this dress, it added that sexy umph that the other lace dresses didn't have. Everyone kept complimenting me the whole night! This dress can fit someone with size 14 hips/jeans I'm more or less a 38B (hormones/body growth keep me guessing what size lol) and size 12 worked for me!

I rented this dress as a backup for a holiday party, and since I had it for the weekend I ended up wearing it for a dinner. It is a beautiful dress and the lace details on the chest and back are gorgeous. The dress has pockets too, which is cool and functional. The fit is true to size, although I have to say the dress was shorter than I had imagined it to be. I am not too tall, 5'7'', and felt like the dress was a bit short on me and the pockets were so high I couldn't fit my hands in them naturally, had to bend my arms. It became even shorter when I sat down. Despite that it is still a beautiful dress and fits very well. Since the skirt is full and not fitted it helps hide any tummy/ hip issues one may have.

I rock climb, so I have very broad shoulders and arms. The size 2 fit very well in the body, but the arms were too narrow, so I wore the larger size. The lace is pretty, and fairly durable but has no stretch at all, so it's tough to move your arms much. The material for the body of the dress is thick, so the dress lays well.

This dress is great! I wore it for my engagement party luncheon, and it was exactly what I was looking for. The lace is beautiful and very well made, and the dress is perfect for a winter event. The dress itself was very flattering and comfortable, and it even had pockets! I ordered a 4 and a 6 (I’m usually a 4 on top and 6 on bottom) and I ended up going with the 6. The arms on the 4 were too tight, so if you don’t have stick arms you should consider getting a larger backup size. Overall, I was very happy with the experience and the dress.

Love this dress, especially when I discovered on-seam pockets! I rented it for NYE. I ordered my normal 0 and a 2 for backup, and ended up wearing the 2. Both fit, but since the lace doesn't stretch, I had more shoulder flexibility in the 2. In the 0 I was afraid the delicate lace would rip if I raised my arms above my head. This dress is beautifully made; the details like the scalloped hem, exposed zipper and scooped back make it really special.

Beautiful dress - would rent it again!

Loved this dress - and got tons of compliments. I wore a regular black bra (not strapless) underneath and it was fine - I don't think a strapless bra is necessary with this dress (maybe if it's a daytime function and you're picky about anyone possibly noticing a strap).

I rented this dress and a backup, but I didn't end up wearing it. I'm a 4 to a 6 in most clothes - rented a 6 and could not zip it up. My rib cage is too wide - I would have needed an 8. Pretty dress. I did not have the tight sleeve issue others wrote about. Loved the pockets.

I'm a 4/6 in dresses. The 4 fit perfect except for the sleeves, which run incredibly small (and I had read about that in other reviews). The 6 still fit great and was perfect in the arms, so I decided to go with that. I felt absolutely stunning in this and was even told I looked like Kate Middleton - what a compliment!! RTR never fails to make you feel like a million bucks. I would definitely rent this dress again - it's the perfect blend of sexy and sophisticated.

My order arrived on time for an out of state wedding!

Had to size up since it was super tight in the arms and shoulders. Overall it looked great, but since I sized up, it was big in the waist and hips.
