I absolutely love this dress. To the point I need to buy it. I received SOO many compliments it felt like my wedding day. I used one of my grandmom's vintage belt to break up the color and add a bit of pop. It runs big because usually I am a 4 and I chose the 2 over the 0 because I wanted it to move more and flow while I danced.

Having guests of the wedding, who spent hundreds of dollars on their dresses, comment on my Rent The Runway Dress. I was promoting RTR all night long and proud of it!

I needed to rent a dress for my bosses black tie wedding in CA. I would usually wear a 6, however the reviews stated this dress ran a tad bigger. I rented the 4L, instead of an 8L, for the second size. Fit like a glove! I got comments on it all night long!

I rented a 2L and 4L expecting that I would wear the 2L, but not wanting to risk having it too snug (I recently starting wearing a size 2... I've been a size 4/6 for years so have not yet really come around to the idea that I might be a size 2). It turns out that the 2L was still a little roomy, especially in the waist. I do have a really narrow waist for my size so I added a belt and it worked perfectly. I wore with about 3.5 inch heels and the length worked. I'm 5'9" and 135 lbs with a small B cup (the top could have been snugger, but I wasn't pulling it up all night). Also, the original 2L I received had a rip in the seam on the chest and I called RTR that day (they were really helpful and assured me that the dress never should have been sent out that way). They made sure I had a new dress the next morning, in plenty of time for the event.

A beautiful gown and a super easy rental process

I rented this dress as my backup for a black tie gala. It was very pretty, and I loved the shoulder ruffle, but the dress was way too big in the waist and hips. My first choice dress arrived very wrinkled, and I had an "uh oh" moment, where I was worried the wrinkles wouldn't come out and I would have to figure out how to make the backup dress work for the function. I played around with dressy belts to cinch the waist, and this actually worked quite well. Luckily, the wrinkles were removed, and I didn't need to turn to plan B. I really liked this dress, though, and would consider renting it again in a smaller size. A friend, who usually wears a size six, ended up wearing this gown, and it looked beautiful on her! I heard her receiving compliments throughout the evening!

I wore this stunning dress to prom and could not have loved it any more. I wore the two, as it was true to size and really showed off my figure(thanks to spanx!). I am 5'4" and with 3 inch heels on you could see my shoes in the front and not the back, but it didn't bother me. I paired this dress with gold chandelier earrings, gold bracelets, gold heels and a gold clutch. Absolutely fabulous and will FOR SURE rent the runway again!

I ordered this dress in both the red and the navy thinking I would be a size 6, which is what I wear in pretty much everything. The Red version was my first choice but unfortunately I had ordered the red in the 6 and 8, then the navy in 4 and 6. The 4 in this dress fit perfectly and was just the right length with a 3 inch heel. I am 5 3'. The dress was in perfect condition and is definitely a high quality gown. It moved really well, and was very easy to wear. The whole RTR experience was wonderful. The customer service was incredible as always!

I rented this dress for a black tie work gala. I wanted to something elegant and not have to worry about too much decollete/cleavage showing. I normally am a size 10 but I ended up fitting perfectly into the size 8L. I recommend going down a size for your back up dress size. I am 5' 9" and the long was perfect with my 4 inch heels. The dress is a dark blue but most of my photos make it look like it's black. It was so comfortable and I highly recommend renting this dress if you want to go for a more elegant look.

This is the most beautiful, elegant dress. I ordered this dress and the Precious Saphire dress for a military ball. Both arrived in perfect condition. If they had been worn before, you couldn't tell. Both dress were absolutely gorgeous, fit perfectly (I usually where an 8 or a 10 for the chest). I order the 8L and 10L. The 8L looked like it was made for me. It skimmed over the parts I don't like and with 3.5 in heals it still went all the way to the floor given the illusion of a taller, thinner silhouette. This was my first experience with RTR. I usually purchase a $125-$200 dress for these balls. From now on I will rent a more expensive dress because the difference was immediately clear. The fabric was so much more luxurious and the construction and cut were superior. Plus, being able to fold the dress up in the morning, pop it in the envelope and never worry about it again was fantastic!

I ordered this dress for a black tie event. I normally wear a size 6 but I ordered the 4R and 6R. The 6R was way too big. The 4R fit my body but it was too SHORT! Even with flats the dress length looked awkward for a black tie event. Needless to say I had to rush to the mall last minute to buy a different dress for the event. Major bummer:(

Overall fit was slightly large, especially through the waist. Paired it with a skinny beaded belt (to help define a high waist), dangle earrings, and a gorgeous Carlos Falchi clutch (also RTR).

I agree with a lot of other reviewers that the arm hole did run a bit small, and after a 5-hour night it started rubbing. It did NOT ruin my experience, though! I wore this to an Inaugural Ball and got so. many. compliments. It ran true to size, and while it was a bit looser in the waist than I would have liked, it wasn't baggie. I wore 3" heels with it and never had to worry about picking it up when walking. I wish I had another event to wear this to.

I actually didn't end up wearing this dress - but felt it was so beautiful when I put it on and worth reviewing. The armhole is the perfect size - the bust area is the tiniest bit big BUT because of the one-shoulder it works out. The material isn't very forgiving, even being dark - it clung to my body a bit more than I would have liked (it highlighted curves or "dents" I'd rather it wouldn't have)- BUT with a pair of Spanx I would have been good to go and it would have hugged it in all the right ways. I would have worn this dress except for having my heart absolutely set on the dress I actually wore which I had to make many adjustments to make it work. This dress is simple, elegant, and great for any formal event because it can be worn on its own or dressed up with accessories.

I loved this gown. It was the perfect dress to wear for the presidential inauguration. The material was great but I wish I had ordered a size smaller because it was way too big on me. This dress never fit right in the waist to hips ratio. I ordered a 4L and a 2L and probably could have maybe used a 2 as the waist was still very bulky in a 2, but the 2 fit in the hips. Wouldn't order again.

The fit was great. I got the size 4 and wore just 3 inch heels and I'm about 5'6 and the dress was the right length. It was a little big in the waist area so you could add a belt like some others did but I was at a formal event so I just wanted something simple. I paired it with simple gold/diamond studs, gold with diamond pendant, and gold bracelets. Very simple yet elegant. I'm a bit small chested so I had to tape a little bit on the side where I was exposed but minor fix.

The shoulder makes the gown! It runs very large so keep that in mind when ordering (I am usually a 12 in all designer gowns/dresses but the 10R was perfect in this one and the 12R way too large). Length was great for me (5'7") with low heels. If you're tall or like to wear heels over 2" I would suggest getting the extra length. It was a very comfortable, easy gown to wear. I received several compliments on the gown.

I felt incredible moving around all night in this phenomenal gown. No one else had one like it. The fabric is very heavy and such a luxurious texture - it moves beautifully. There is just a little bit of a train, but it never catches your shoes (unless you step backwards - so don't step backwards). I am very tall, at almost 5'10", and I wore 4" heels (I love my high heels!), and the dress front fell at my ankle, showing all of my shoes - which was fine, but much shorter than I expected since I rented a "Long" and other reviewers said they found the dress to be long anyway. Just one note: the zipper hem fell just a little strangely on me - there were some bumps from the fabric construction that never really smoothed out. But this might just have been my body with this dress. Overall, it was gorgeous and made me feel so beautiful!

I had a formal event I needed to attend with co-workers and my boss and this dress was perfect! It was so classy and I felt completely comfortable around my boss. It did run a little short. I am 5'7" and I ended up having to wear a very low kitten heel, so I may recommend ordering the long if you are tall or plan to wear taller heels. It was also a little tight under my arm, but my bust is on the larger size so it would probably be fine on anyone else. Overall really happy with this dress!

This dress is very pretty and flattering! It was also comfortable (No pulling or sucking in all night!!). It defintely runs a size large.

This dress was absolutely beautiful!!! I received so many comliments - even a "you look like you should be on the red carpet in that dress!". I couldn't believe how well it fit me - it's so difficult to find a dress that fits my pear shaped body. Strapless dresses are out of the question unless altered to fit my very smal bust (34 a). I was pleasantly surprised that the 4 was small enough at the top ( with a padded strapless bra) yet still fit my 9 month post baby hips! The color was just gorgeous, a rich deep blue navy and the material vas very thick. Perfect length on me (5'5") with 2" heels. The condition of this dress was brand new. This was a great experience. The material is very heavy, but very comfortable. I typically wear an 8 and actually ordered that as my primary size with the 6 as a back up. The 8 was way too big, but the 6 fit perfectly. I would suggest going a size down.

The dress was perfect for the occasion, although a little bit big in the waist. it was extremely comfortable and was just the right length. People also appreciated that it was Navy blue rather than traditional black. I considered wearing red acessories but, due to procrastination, was not able to purchase what I was looking for so I ended up wearing gold, which worked veru well also!

I usually have to wear a size 8 to fit my 36D bust and the rest of my frame. Sometimes (rarely) I get lucky and can squeeze into a 6. I had a 6R and 8R delivered. I am 5'6". The 6 was way too big - everywhere. It was too big on my bust (most of my breast was visible on one side), saggy in the waist and hips, and much too long with heels on. I had to send both sizes back and do an emergency dress run after hours. BUT - the material felt very nice. High quality dress. Just bigger than expected. :)
