Black Halo

This dress fit like a glove and I felt very glam for a black tie wedding. I wore the sleeves off the shoulder a bit to make it a bit more formal. It was comfortable and I got a ton of compliments. Recommend very much!!

This dress is very polished. The print makes it interesting and better for a party than for work unlike other Black Halo dresses. I wore it to a day wedding in NYC and felt perfectly dressed for the occasion. The dress is very fitted so shapewear helps create the right silhouette.

The fit was perfect. This silhouette is great for my body type so I can't go wrong with it. I am 5'6 with a small upper body but bigger hips and booty.

The dress fit true to size. I just thoughts the dress had some shine, but it was more of a faded look to it. Overall the style is flattering, but I just did not like the look for the party I was attending.

I rented this dress for my cousin's law school graduation. This is one of my favorite designers. The dresses are cut impeccably . I've since purchased other dresses from their line. The material is very thick, rich and snug fitting. It will flatter ANY body type. It's very forgiving, you don't have to worry about Spanx or having body imperfections show through the fabric. The material is very luxurious and wraps your body, the colors are bright and vibrant. I paired this with simple black pumps and pearls. Of course, like all RTR dresses, I got tons of compliments!

The dress was more of a navy than a black. I wore it with champagne colored shoes. It was hard to dance in because of the length, but I still got down. I run between a size 10 and an 8. This dress I had to use the 10 because it fit perfectly. The spanks helped, but I had to hike them up in the back b/c the slit went kind of high. I would rent this one again.

This dress was gorgeous- perfect for a fall wedding! Although it is very fitted, the fabric has some stretch so I was able to dance with no problem. The dress is dark blue, but I wore black tights and shoes and it looked great. The neckline is really unique and doesn't need any jewelry. I just wore a simple pearl bracelet.

This dress has a lot of character and makes a statement. The print is very pretty. The dress can be very flattering, but you should wear Spanx as this dress is body conscious. I am a short girl and this dress hit fairly low compared to the picture of the statuesque model on the website, but I expected that. I wore 3.5 inch heals and it looked very nice despite my short stature. This dress is a dark navy blue (NOT BLACK), but I paired this dress with black fishnet stockings and a black shoe and it looked very nice. This is not a dress you can easily dance in and it wrinkled a lot during the course of my evening wearing it, but overall I had a lot of fun wearing this dress.

This dress was amazing. I have small bust and saddlebag things, so finding dresses that fit on top and bottom can be a trick. The bust was well-fitted, the torso wasn't quite long enough (the flare out over the butt started a little too high), but not enough that you could really see. Enough room in the stomach panel to sit down comfortably without feeling encased. I find the lower cut arm holes to be a good feature -- lots of air flow, which keeps a dress from getting sweat stains after repeated wearing. A well constructed dress, which fit me better than some that were tailor made for me. If I could find this pattern, I certainly would buy it.

Alissa (one of the Rent the Runway stylists) recommended this to me, after I requested a recommendation for a Mad Men-themed wine tasting event I have coming up. It is a great pick, it's so Mad Men-esque! I just tried it on and it has a great, classic silhouette--I won't even need to add a whole lot of accessories to get that retro look I'm going for. It didn't have that much "hanger appeal" for me, but looks amazing when you put it on. I love Black Halo because they have form-fitting silhouettes that hug your curves in the right spots and look sexy while still being classy. However, don't let the form-fitting thing scare you--while it runs smaller than my other favorite brands (i.e. Marchesa Notte and Badgley Mischka), the fabric is still relatively forgiving and has some stretch, so it's still comfortable (and you can breathe!) My only minor quibble is that the zipper is a bit hard to run up and down, but for how I look in this, I'll deal with that. The arm holes are also loose on me. I love how it looks on me overall though. It makes my waist look so tiny. The photo actually doesn't quite do it justice, the best part of the dress is the neckline--it doesn't lie flat like the photo, but actually pops up a bit and has an interesting, origami-like look to it. I'm also not sure how it would look on shorter women. I'm 5'4" and on me, it hits right below my knee. It's a longer hemline than I'm used to, but since I'm trying to dress for a 1960s theme party, I don't mind because then it'll look more authentic (and dresses back then tended to be longer). Worth a look!

This dress was a fantastic fit. I've truly never worn a dress that complimented my hourglass figure so well-- in the time since I wore the dress, I've tried to find another dress that's comparable to buy for myself. No such luck. A great shape and such a fun print!

I wore this dress to my Master's graduation and received lots of compliments. The 6 wasn't available so I rented a size 4 which happened to fit me perfectly! The dress did wrinkle easily but I was wearing a robe over it. I would like to rent another Black Halo dress in the future.

Loved this dress! Ran true to size and was very comfortable! I have a petite, hourglass figure with a larger bust. It hugged all the right ways in all the right places :) I received MANY compliments and was totally happy with it overall.

I rented this for my office's Christmas party and it was I complete hit--I absolutely Loved this dress and received compliments on it all night. It is definitely a dark, nearly black, blue--but its dark enough that black nylons and black heels matched. The arm holes are a little low, and even though I tried to wear a cami underneath, the neckline is too unique to allow it, so be forewarned.(You can see this in the picture, which makes me cringe every time I look at the gap) However, despite the lower than appreciated arm holes the dress was fitted in a beautifully classic manner. A cardigan fixes the problem and is worth the rest of the dress.

Usually wear a 10, due to chest size...the sz8 fit the body, but couldn't get it zipped up. The sz 10, was huge all over...didn't fit anywhere. I also note that the color is navy, and very faded...like a well-worn pair of dark denim...makes it look old. I wasn't impressed with this dress at all. I thank the stylists for helping to get me another dress, that fit correctly, before my daughter's first communion party! Thank you!!!!!

The dress fit like a glove! Structured in all the right places. Longer hemline keeps it classy, prolly better for taller girls. I have no complaints, always love renting!

This print is gorgggeeeeooouuss and very flattering. I found myself fussing with the dress a little (smoothing down the front, adjust the little sleeve flaps), but overall it's a very pretty dress that can go from day to night. I wore it for my bridal shower during the day and then my fiance's surprise birthday party that night and it was perfect. Because of the length (a bit below the knee) make sure to wear it with sky high heels.

Had so many compliments, perfect for a wedding reception.

I wore this dress for Easter Sunday. I wanted something that was conservative enough for church but not stuffy. The style, fit, length and floral pattern were exactly what I was going for. I am a worship leader in my church so I needed just the right combination of looking good but not standing out too much. This dress delivered! My only complaint, and the only reason I gave it four stars, was because I felt the material seemed rather faded, as if it had been washed or dry cleaned a few too many times. That was a little disappointing. Otherwise, a great dress! I thought I ran a little small. I ordered a 0 but wore the 2. I usually wear a 0 in most things.

Fits small. I always wear a size 4 and I needed the 6, which fit well. I am tall and slim - 6' tall. The dress was a great length on me but the 4 was tight through the thighs and ribcage. The color is more like a faded black. Very pretty – I loved it!

Dress had the perfect mix of stretch and hold -- stretched enough so I fit but felt structured enough that I didn't feel chubby or like I needed Spanx. Was pretty faded when I took it out of the bag, but no one else seemed to notice. Plenty of compliments at the fall wedding I wore it to!

I didn't feel awesome in this dress. It didn't do much to accentuate my attributes. I have a very athletic and curvy body - flat stomach, big bootie, and muscular thighs. This dress kept hiking up and bunching up around my waist. The bust was a little snug.

This dress was so beautiful! I'd love to buy it. The fit was great. I did have to size up to fit my bust, but other than that, it was so elegant and I received lots of compliments. Hides what you want it to and accentuates all the good spots.

Definitely runs small. Spanx really helps. Also-cut very narrow through the shoulders. Hit me just below the knee. Cotton fabric with no give. Drop waist. Lovely party dress!!

I love Black Halo dresses....They are very sexy without being flashy. These dresses are very slimming and comfortable.

Unfortunately the 8 was just a little too snug so I ended up going with a different dress from RTR. However, had this one fit, I would have worn it because I liked it so much better than my first choice. The material is beautiful. The dress is very fitted and the fabric does not give, so go up a size. I am a pretty true 8, but would have felt stuffed in this dress. A 10 would have been perfect. It is also very nice for full bust. I will rent this in a 10 for sure!!

It was a very pretty dress but it looked washed out. The cut of the dress didn't fit well even though i own a similar Black Halo dress....i think this dress is great but im sad it didn't work out for me

This dress fit beautifully. It was just as described on the site and the reviews were totally on point. This was one of the most flattering dressing I have rented so far. The floral pattern was not overwhelming fabric has enough stretch to be comfortable sitting and standing. The only thing to be wary of is the arm opening does go down pretty low so depending on the the type of event, you may want a llittle wrap or sweater.

This was a perfect dress for my friends bridal luncheon. I received many compliments on the dress, which is always great! I'm 5'11 and this dress fit me perfectly, though I did have to go up a size as the dress runs a tad small. The color is indeed a deep blue, not black. I wore nude shoes with it and it was perfect.

This dress is a great dress. It fit perfectly but the one I got looked like its been washed too many times. The dress did not look like the picture. The flowers was washed out. Rent The Runway need to get a new one and throw this one away. It was horrible I can not believe you guys are still renting this dress...Please throw it away that's how bad the dress look

I wore this to a wedding, and it fit fairly well. I usually wear between a size 6 to 8 in dresses, and the 8 fit well. I'm six feet tall, and it was a good length. I agree with other reviews stating that it was a little stretched out. I was nursing at the time, and it fit well across the bust.

the reviews are accurate for this dress - spanx are necessary if you've got any sort of hips. the print and the asymmetrical neckline are fabulous, as is the slit and the tailoring of the dress. however i felt that the material and the vividness of the print looks much better online than it did in person. in person, it just looks like a brushed cotton, and doesn't have as glamorous of a feel as i envisioned when ordering. i'm pretty consistently a size 6, and i couldn't even get the 6 over my hips. i wore the 8, which was tight, but figure flattering once i got it on. the armholes are a bit low, so you do have to deal with the bra strap bulge. i liked wearing this dress, as it has a very joan harris mad-men feel, but just be prepared to have your curves on display and have spanx at the ready.

I wore this for Valentine's Day and my husband loved it. It was cute/sexy but also classy. As for the fit, I could've worn the 2 but it was a bit tighter than usual (I usually wear a 2 in all dresses from RTR) so I went with the 4. I'm 5'3" and petite so I feel like I was in between the 2 and the 4 (the torso/waist line hit me better in the 2 compared to the 4).

I am a size 12 and highest size for RTR. The largest of this dress was a 10 but I loved the look so I thought I would take the risk. It didn't fit! I would suggest going up a size. The fabric was lovely with a nice sheen on it. The design is wonderful. Great for a garden party, summer or spring wedding or just a special night out.

the dress is form fitting but with a little help from spanx it was perfect, i felt like amillion bucks and got so many complements!! would love to purchase it!!
