Stylists’ Picks: Dresses for the Long Weekend
Thu, 2011-01-13 14:43 | by AnonymousMonday we celebrate MLK Day and some of us will even be lucky enough to sneak a Monday off of work. With temperatures in the mid 20’s some of us are exciting to spend a long weekend in bed. But of course our stylists will be out and about in RTR. Here's what they'll be wearing for their long weekends. What will you be wearing this holiday weekend - or are you stuck in the office?
Ashley: This dress is perfectly casual and sweet. The perfect pick for shopping and lunch in Boston with the girls!
Alissa: An amazing alternative to black that is still versatile and winter appropriate. Definitely wearing this Proenza to a late dinner Sunday night!
Rachel: I am stayin local and already shivering thinking about going out this weekend- at least the Yigal Sultry Sleek Dress will cover me up a little bit!
Justine: This deep purple Robert Rodriguez velvet number is called On the Prowl for a reason- I'm going to pair it with suede wedges, patterned tights and a leather jacket. Plus, I think I can change it up and wear it twice this weekend so I can put my four day rental to work!
Emily: I am over black and itching to be in something with a little pop of color. I plan on wearing this upstate to dinner with a girlfriend - I'll rock it with black tights and boots!
Melissa: This flirty and comfortable Pencey dress is a perfect way to keep cozy on snowy days. I'm bringing it with me to Chicago this weekend!

Style Me: What to Wear for a Chic Ski Getaway
Tue, 2011-01-11 13:37 | by AnonymousThere are still plenty of ways that you can still look fabulous while you’re enjoying the slopes- don’t put your style aside when the puffy jackets come into play. Here are our tips for looking chic in the cold.
Tip 1: You will be wrapped up when you are skiing, but when you come indoors and the puffies come off you want to look your best by the fire. Make sure to layer with comfortable and chic pieces and don’t be afraid to wear a dress for dinner- just make sure you are covered. Accessories can make the most of any outfit and nothing makes up for a cushy ensemble than a piece of serious bling.
Tip 2: Nothing screams après chic more than fur! Whether it’s faux or fur-real, incorporate it in your look. We like it as a scarf, jacket trim, ear muffs or pom poms on your boots!
Tip 3: Moisturize your skin and lips. The cold will be tough on your skin, so come prepared! We love the never fail Smith’s Rosebud Salve to keep your lips as smooth as the slopes. It’s compact size is also pocket friendly and who doesn’t love a natural look with a lush, rosy lip?
Follow these tips and check out our après chic suggestions to be the most fashionable girl sippin' on hot cocoa. What are ski trip fashion must haves? Share with us in the comments!

Style Me: Winter Wedding Special
Tue, 2011-01-04 15:47 | by AnonymousNow that the holidays have died down it’s time to rev up for the weddings you’ll be attending! What is too casual? Formal? How black tie is black tie? Whether you’ll be somewhere warm or somewhere that requires some layering, not to worry! Our stylists have got the answers for you.
Tip 1: Know your bride to be. If she’s a fashionista of sorts and the invitation reads “black tie,” prepare to wear a gown. If she’s low key and attire is semi-formal, take it down a notch. Just remember, it’s always better to be a bit over dressed than underdressed.
Tip 2: If you look in the mirror and feel you might be too informal, glam up your look with formal jewelry. A simple dress can have a transformation with the right jewels! Remember that you will be eating and dancing so make sure you are comfortable in what you are wearing.
Tip 3: Get to know the venue. Find out more about where you will be celebrating with the couple so you know what to expect. If most of the partying will be outside, you might want to refrain from wearing a dress with a tail. If you will be inside, take a shawl just in case they blast the AC!
Here are some of our favorite winter wedding looks. What weddings will you toast to this winter? What will you be wearing? Share with us in the comments!
