8. Beyonce SNL Skit

We are loving this Beyonce and Jay Z skit from the most recent SNL. So hilarious and Maya Rudolph totally killing it as B!

9. Clarks Botanicals Lip Tint

Every fashionista had this lip plumping Ultra Rich Lip Tint in her bag at fashion week (Lucy is addicted). She recommends going with the color Moore Nude (inspired by Julianne, of course).

10. New Florence + The Machine Album

Derek loves the new Florence and The Machine album that can help calm him during the crazy busy time that is fashion and market week. Flo is also his style muse for Fall 2012!

Street Style from New York Fashion Week

It's no secret that to be noticed at NYFW, you have to bring your street style a-game. These front-row regulars work the season's hottest trends and we break down how to get the look for your next event.

Tuesday Tip: Contour Like a Pro

New York Fashion Week didn't just inspire what looks we want to wear for fall, but beauty looks we want to try now! After having the chance to see some amazing runway shows this past week, we could not get enough of the stunning contouring we saw all over the runway to make cheekbones stand out almost more than the fabulous dresses.

So how do you contour like a pro? Bronzer!

What's great about the Lancome Star Bronzer is that it has a brush size attached for easy applying. To contour like a pro, it is important to put the bronzer directly under your cheekbones going in an upward direction towards your ear. Be sure to blend out to avoid the never appealing stripe...(yikes!) To add a bit of a sunkissed glow to the rest of your face add some bronze to the tip of your nose, along the sides of your nose, top of your forehead and along your jawline.

With your face contoured to perfection you might get mistaken for our latest model muse Joan Smalls who rocked countless runways this past fashion week!

Tuesday Tip: Be Mine

It's here, the ultimate date night! Whether you're out for a romantic dinner or fun night on the town with your best girlfriends, Valentine's Day dressing is the perfect time to play up your femininity by going sexy or sweet!

We've put together two great looks for you to find inspiration in your own closets or get ready for a weekend rental to continue the celebration in style. When it comes to sexy, two words come to mind always: Herve Leger. These bandage dresses are some of our favorite starlets' go-to silhouettes and look ahh-ma-zing if you want to play up your curves! Our Cranberry Couture Dress is a piece you can't go wrong with. We love this with a statement necklace like Dannijo's Bea Necklace and topped off with a Vintage Chanel Classic Coco Bag for a perfect finishing touch.

Feeling sweet? We adore our Tibi Cutie Pie dress, not just for the name! This blush pink chiffon silk dress has the most beautiful ruffle detailing that will be sure to wow. We love the simplicity of this frock and that you can easily make it more formal by adding some jewels (do we ever really need a reason?!). We like our Miriam Haskal Secret Garden Cuff for it's unique vintage look. Add our Kate Spade Crystal Kate Chandelier Earrings for the right amount of sparkle and finish the look off with our classic  Lauren Merkin Clutch .

Sexy or sweet, which look will you share with your love this Valentine's Day?

10 Things We Love 2.13.12

1 LA Pop-Up Shop!

Today and this weekend we held our FIRST ever Pop-Up Shop in LA at the Andaz Hotel in West Hollywood! From champagne and cupcakes to our fabulous dresses and accessories, it has been such a blast. We love meeting our West coast fans and customers, and they loved trying on RTR dresses in person and being able to rent directly from our Pop-Up! Plus, Kendall and Kylie Jenner stopped by to pick out their Valentine's Day outfits (they particularly loved the Herves!). Thank you to all who came!

2 Harvard Business School Case

Back to where it all began - hbs - with our founding team to launch the hbs case on Rent the Runway! It was taught to all 900 first years and hopefully many of them will want to join us in the west village post graduation. Amazing what 2.5 years can do! - Jenn

3 New York Fashion Week!

New York Fashion Week is underway and we've seen some incredible shows so far. Make sure to participate in our Style Council on Facebook so you can help choose the styles that make it from the runway to RTR! Check out Derek's tips for surviving Fashion Month, as he dubs it.

4 Last Chance Clearance Sale Markdowns!

We just made final markdowns on our clearance sale. Now's your chance to make a favorite designer dress and accessory part of your permanent collection!

5 Adele

One of our favorite artists, Adele, toally killed it last night at the Grammys. Looking fabulous as ever she snagged 6 wins, not to mention landing the cover of March Vogue!

6 Whitney Houston

We were shocked and saddened to hear of Whitney Houston's death this past Saturday. An incredible talent, inspiration, and person, she will live on through her legendary music. Lucy specifically remembers assisting dressing her for the 1996 cover of Harper's Bazaar, in which she listened to her sing. "Inspirational is an understatement" she says.

7 The Vow

Heather went to go see The Vow this past weekend and it was the perfect pre-Valentine's Day movie. Channing Tatum and Rachel McAdams have insane chemistry, and they had her tearing up the whole time!

8 NY Knicks

Many of us at RTR, being NY natives, couldn't be more excited about the Knicks finally stepping their game up. With the help of J-Lin they've won their past 5 games and beaten the Lakers!!

9 UCB East

Kevin loves catching improve at the relatively new UCB East. They have nightly shows and feature some of NYC's up and coming comedians.

10 The Walking Dead

The suspense-filled AMC zombie apocalypse series returned Sunday night for it's mid-season premiere. Though not typically a fan of the undead, the suspense, drama and hot lead actors have Melissa hooked!

Derek's Tips for Fashion Week

100 designers, 40 fashion shows and 3 cities...yes, Fashion Month (New York, Milan, Paris) is upon us. How does the Fashion team do it all?  Below are our Head Merchant Derek's tips for navigating this busy season.

1.  Vitamins - Make sure you take your fashion week vitamins: C , B and gallons of 5 hour energy.

2. For Chinese New Year the tradition is to buy new shoes, so for Fashion Week the tradition is to buy a new bag.  Something functional (big and black ) and stylish (Prada and YSL) are important points to consider.

3. Planning your transportation from show to show to market and back to the office again takes serious pre-planning.  Luckily hiring a helicopter pilot is easier than you think and can get you from Lincoln center to the meatpacking district in under 10 minutes.

4. Avoid unsustainable wardrobe concepts.

5.  With over 100 designers showing and limited time slots you are bound to get double booked.  To avoid disappointing a designer, hire a body double to sit in your front row seat. Sunglasses paired with an indentical dress rental from RTR and no one will be the wiser.

Style Awards: Flirty in Fuchsia

Congrats to this week's Style Awards winner, Bailey! She looks fun in flirty in this Shoshanna one-shouldered dress. We love how she added a belt to accentuate her waist. Our Facebook fans loved her whole outfit!

Style Spotlight: Camilla Belle

Camilla Belle hasn't been very present in the film world as of late but there's been no shortage of her at fashion events. Designers love the it girl and it's no question that her good looks and charm contribute to her effortlessly chic vibe. We love how she isn't afraid to experiment with color and fashion forward styles; see below for some of our favorites!

Camilla rocks this beautifully cut marigold gown with poise and grace. Pairing with simple, complementary jewelry is key as to not overwhelm the gorgeous color. We recommend taking advantage of the mild winter we've been having and rock this spring-like Badgley Mischka dress. The ruffled bodice is perfect for a night of dancing and not to mention super comfortable!

Green goddess is the only way to describe how stunning Camilla is in this hue. Her light eyes pop and her hair has never looked sleeker. Go for a similar, one-shouldered look with this Milly frock that will have others green with envy when you walk into the room. Pair with simple earrings like Camille or wear a statement, jeweled necklace to spice it up.

You can't go wrong in ravishing red (seriously can this girl do no wrong) and especially not with Jason Wu on your arm. You'll have no problem wowing the crowd in this insane Badgley Mischka Chiffon Gown. The sweetheart neckline and ruched bodice are very flattering and will give you a gorgeous silhouette.

Spotted: Sarah Michelle Gellar

Sarah Michelle Gellar was a guest on The Late Show with David Letterman last night and sported our Haute Hippie Gold Peacock Lace Dress! She paired it perfectly with a cropped blazer and peep toe platform heels. The 34 year old actress and Ringer star shows that she's still got it!

10 Things We Love: Designer Edition!

1 Peter Som

It’s fabulous when something you love gets super-sized! I already love Diptyque candles—but a recent discovery of their large sized ‘bougie’ Indoor/Outdoor candle is fabulous! Its huge scale (52 oz!) gives it drama and it has taken center stage on my coffee table. It also comes in my favorite scents—Baies and Feu de Bois. I have to say this really is the perfect gift—to give AND to get!

2 Dannijo

I love to travel and take photographs everywhere. Below if one of my favorite photos that I took last summer in Monaco, France. I blow some of my favorite photos up and find cool vintage frames to hang them in. They always remind me of places I have visited. - Jo

3 Sophie Theallet

I love Aedes de Venustas, the best fragrance boutique in NYC. They have the best independent brands available.

4 Narciso Rodriguez

I love FD Gallery because you can find the rarest treasures and gifts there.

5 Erin Fetherston

Horsey is a horse-shaped attachment designer by Korean designer Eungi Kim that you can put on your bike to make you feel like you're riding a grand stallion.

6 Tuleste Market

We love "Flying Overseas" by Theophilus London (who rocks Tuleste like no other), a must for your playlist to keep you daydreaming of far away places and warm beaches during the Winter.

7 Sachin + Babi

We loved War Horse! The emotional bond between the man and the horse made us both come home and cuddle up with Coco (our King Charles Spaniel).

8 Tibi

Designer Amy Smilovic loves this blog that features gorgeous art and lots of handmade projects!

9 Gemma Redux

I was recently in India and after some (very successful) gem shopping in Jaipur, I spent a few days relaxing on the lake in Udaipur - one of the most majestic places I have ever been and a great place to unwind and get inspired.

10 Gryphon

Designer Aimee Cho loves the hand-crocheted alpaca sea-life shadow box from Oeuf. It's a baby-friendly decor item that mimics the look of the gryphon showroom with a sense of humor and whimsy for her son's nursery.

Prabal Gurung Spring Campaign

We just about fell out of our chairs when we laid our eyes on Prabal Gurung's Spring 2012 campaign. Victoria's Secret model and blonde bombshell Candice Swanepoel went dark for the designer and totally kills it in his graphic, cutout pieces from the collection. We can't wait to see what he shows for Fall 2012. [Lucky]

Our latest fashion literature obsession: Impact celebrates 50 years of the Council of Fashion Designers of America with an incredible account of the CFDA's history by Patricia Mears, an introduction by Cathy Horyn, and over 300 statements from some of the most important names in American fashion. The gorgeous book is sure to be a coffee table essential and must-read for aspiring fashionistas. To continue the celebration, the museum at FIT will be hosting an exhibit next month featuring the work of about 400 CFDA members. Cheers!

Style Spotlight: Cameron Diaz

Cameron has recently been spotted front fow at the couture shows and now we know why, thanks to New York Mag! In preparation for a big couture editorial she'll shoot for InStyle, the actress acompanied the mag's Style Director to many of the Paris shows. Her ubiquitous presence was welcomed by the paparazzi and we loved seeing the different looks she sported. See some of our faves below!

Cameron looks polka dot perfect in this cap sleeve, belted frock. We love how she glammed it up with a blonde pouf and feminine makeup. Get her flirty look with Moschino Cheap and Chic's Ruffle Wrap and Dance Dress.

Cap sleeves and lace are two ways to get instant effortless glam. We love Cameron's floral look - get it with this Mark & James by Badgley Mischka Rose Garden Shift. This ensemble is perfect for a first date, anniversary, or dinner party!

Cameron's athletic figure is flattered by one shoulder styles that help offset broader shoulders. We love this coral color on her and this Peter Som dress does just the trick. The gorgeous draping gives the illusion of curves and the length is great for a multitude of occasions.
