Friday Fashion Fun: Fall Campaigns and More
Fri, 2011-07-29 12:23 | by Lara Crystal
This week we've got new campaigns from Proenza and Lancome, plus a new transportation option for fashion week...
Pure Proenza
The second Proenza's Fall show walked the runway, it was clear that this was maybe one of their most innovative and beautiful collections yet. Luckily their ad campaign captures the spirit and beautifully depicts the vivd prints with Native American heritage that made us swoon at the show. [Fashionista]
Emma Watson for Lancome
Her Lancome campaign is finally out. Also revealed: a behind the scenes video where we learned our new favorite word "ambassadress". Check it out. [Racked]
Bikes for Fashion Week
As if we needed more proof that bikes are the new black, Diane von Furstenberg, Nanette Lepore, and Rebecca Taylor are among the fabulous designers jazzing up Bowery Lane Bicycles for this upcoming fashion week. Now, who's going to make us some designer helmuts? [WWD]
Style Awards: Major in Mischka
Fri, 2011-07-29 11:17 | by Lara CrystalThis week our style awards winner Vanessa struck a perfect pose and ran away with the votes. Vanessa looked gorgeous in Badgley Mischka's Miss Mysterious Gown - it's no wonder she got tons of compliments. Congrats!
Thursday Obsession 7/28
Thu, 2011-07-28 12:32 | by Lara CrystalMaybe we're a little self indulgent, but choosing today's obsession was easy . With August creeping up on us, and back to school on the horizon, there's no better time than to honor our summer stars: the Rent the Runway interns. Today our interns are travelling throughout NYC, with stops already made at the Today Show, the Met, and Grand Central Station. They'll be going all day, handing out gift cards, prizes, and generally being awesome. With their rainbow of color and lively spirits, we're proud to have them representing Rent the Runway today, tomorrow and always. Interns, we are obsessed with you! For our readers who want to follow them in NYC this afternoon, check out our Twitter to find out where they'll be next.

Style Spotlight: Malin Akerman
Wed, 2011-07-27 14:10 | by AnonymousMalin first caught our attention playing supporting roles in some of our favorite romantic comedies (27 Dresses, The Proposal) and we can tell that it’s only a matter of time before she’s a bona fide leading lady. She has a Cameron Diaz-esque penchant for short dresses, and inspired sartorial choices. With her flaxen hair and piercing blue eyes, she’s a stunning beauty that's patiently waiting to step into the Style Spotlight.
Looking fresh in orange, Malin lets her neutral (yet sassy- check out the python clutch) accessories complement the bold color of her dress. Steal her style for a cocktail party.
Malin flaunts her figure in a one-shoulder bandage dress, and you can do the same in this showstopping number by Hervé Léger. With a fun cuff, you’re ready for a night on the town.
Vamping it up, Malin is a vixen in a ladylike red dress. A big cocktail ring goes great with this look for a hot date night.
Tuesday Tip: Bridal Shower Chic
Tue, 2011-07-26 15:04 | by AnonymousWedding season is in full force, and although your first concern may be your outfit for the actual ceremony, you can’t forget about the countless events (and outfits) that go along with it. For the bridal shower, you can play into the light-hearted mood with a fun, colorful print or pretty pastel. Comfort is key sipping tea and doling out gifts.
During the day, try a pair of wedges instead spiky heels and keep accessories simple but sparkly. Modesty may go out the window when you’re discussing lingerie for the honeymoon, but for your bridal shower outfit, it’s best to err on the side of preppy and chic.
10 Things We Love 7.25.11
Mon, 2011-07-25 14:59 | by Anonymous
1 New Hervé Léger
Just when you thought it couldn't get any hotter, 7 new styles to heat it up even further.
Jeannice, our office roller derby racer, is ready for the highline rink opening this Thursday under the Highline. It’s only open for a limited time, so check out details here.

Chondita says this epic experiential theater production cannot be missed. Part Macbeth, part Eyes Wide Shut, a little Twin Peaks... it must be seen to be believed.
4 Gorgeous Fall Gowns
In the midst of this sweltering heat, doesn’t a cool fall evening wearing one of these gorgeous gowns sound nice?
Ashley loves this Lower East spot with a farm-to-table menu and garden ambiance.

The last thing we need is another reason to crave frozen yogurt, but this self-serve spot with 16 rotating flavors and do-it-yourself toppings is definitely crave-worthy. Now if we could just figure out how to not overload the cup with too many toppings...

7 Entourage
Vince and the gang are back for their last season, and while it's certainly not as exciting as it used to be, it'll do the trick during the slow summer TV season.

With this Essie polish, Ashley cannot stop looking at her pretty purple toes.

9 Left Bank
This brand new West Village restaurant just opened, and even week one the food was on point. Recommended: the delicious pork chop with sauerkraut (trust us, it's lighter than it sounds!).
10 Extreme Couponing
Alissa, Rachel, and Stephanie are all obsessed with the TLC show Extreme Couponing. It’s hard not to be amazed by someone who can walk out of the grocery store paying nothing for $500 worth of food.
Style Note: Orangey-Red
Mon, 2011-07-25 13:55 | by AnonymousWhether we’re talking about lipstick, nails, pants, or dresses, orangey-red (coral’s redder relative) is the color of summer 2011. Mila Kunis was right on trend in Lanvin at the premiere of her latest movie Friends with Benefits. She is the picture of sultry sophistication in the off-the-shoulder sheath.

We think Mila looks gorgeous with her sun-kissed glow, but the beauty of this color is that it flatters any skin tone. The eye-catching hue will have you turning heads at your next cocktail party, wedding reception, or dinner party. Mila is wearing black heels, but we also love nude heels with this color, and you can let the siren red speak for itself with simple accessories.
Friday Fashion Fun: Crystals, Christian, and Bold Lips
Fri, 2011-07-22 10:11 | by AnonymousPrabal Gurung and Joseph Altuzarra designed collections for Swarovski sparkle, Christian Siriano has an enviable apartment, and lipstick is the new thing for Rachel Zoe and Kate Spade. Here’s our round-up of what’s going in fashion right now.
Prabal Gurung and Joseph Altuzarra for Atelier Swarovski
Prabal Gurung and Joseph Altuzarra have designed limited edition jewelry collections for Atelier Swarovski, and the collections will be sold exclusively at the Swarovski Crystallized shop in Manhattan. Gurung’s pieces are fierce and ‘80s inspired while Altuzarra’s are variations on the resin cuff. It’s hard to choose what we like better! [Racked]

Christian Siriano shows off his NYC digs
Recently, Christian Siriano opened the doors to his fantastic New York apartment for an exclusive interview with Refinery 29. Check out the pics of his abode here. [Refinery 29]

Rachel Zoe and Kate Spade to launch lipstick
Is lipstick the new perfume? It seems like everyone wanted to get in on the fragrance industry, but Rachel Zoe and Kate Spade are now both launching lipstick collections. Rachel’s line is named Exude, while Kate’s is called Supercalifragilipstick (so cute!). We can’t wait to try them out. [Sassybella]

Thursday Obsession 7/21/11
Thu, 2011-07-21 15:52 | by AnonymousNickelodeon is finally giving in to our ‘90s nostalgia. Our inner tween selves might’ve squealed a little when we found out that the cable channel is bringing back some of our favorite shows for a late night block of time called “The ‘90s are All That.” What could be better than repeats of “Doug,” “All That,” “Clarissa Explains It All,” and “Kenan & Kel?” The channel is also taking suggestions via Facebook for the next shows to add, so we'll be putting in votes for "Legends of the Hidden Temple" and "Hey Arnold!" We only hope they’re as good as we remember.

Style Note: Citrus Hues
Thu, 2011-07-21 12:18 | by AnonymousIt might be impossible to contain summer in a bottle, but these sunny lemon, lime, and orange hues are the next best thing. We love that these happy colors can’t help but brighten up our mood and bring good summer vibes. On the set of Gossip Girl, Leighton Meester is looking citrusy fresh in a citrus-print Stella McCartney skirt.

Take note from Leighton (or Blair Waldorf?) and don’t shy away from the head-turning brights. She goes for the full head-to-toe look with orangey-red lipstick, accessorizing with a punchy orange bag and pumps. With a print, we prefer to keep accessories simple, but with a solid, colorful jewelry is encouraged!
Jenn in London - Day Two
Thu, 2011-07-21 11:15 | by Anonymous
My trip to London was busy, but I tried to soak up every moment. I got to see so many gorgeous dresses and meet so many amazing people. To see the creativity coming from the designers and fashion industry insiders was so inspirational, and I couldn’t wait to come back and share my experience. Here’s another little snapshot of my time in London. - Jenn

Style Spotlight: Brooklyn Decker
Wed, 2011-07-20 15:00 | by AnonymousShow any guy a picture of Brooklyn Decker and they'll probably recognize her immediately. Best known for her Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Edition cover, we'd originally written her off as a guy’s girl. Then, she chopped off her hair, got a part in a movie, and suddenly she was spending less time in a bikini and more time showing of her killer style. We love her edgy yet conservative choices, so we wanted to give Brooklyn time to shine in this week’s Style Spotlight.
Brooklyn looks sizzling in a red mini and Dannijo bracelets at the ESPYs. Steal her style for your own red carpet look.
Add some sass to sunny yellow with a bold black necklace for a night on the town.
Even in a ruffled sweetheart neckline, Brooklyn’s poise gives her an edge. This stunning red gown will be sure to stand out at your next black tie event.

This teal Tibi dress is a flattering silhouette and the perfect color for a summer wedding. I like to edge up my look with studs whenever possible and these nude Sam Edelman pumps compliment this girly look perfectly.
Date Night with Peter at Babbo Restaurant
I love to change up the look of a dress with a belt. I’m going to pair this Chan Luu belt with this Tibi dress to add a little edge. These Guiseppe Zanotti clogs are the perfect complement to this Boho Date Night look.

JENNY
Hamptons BBQ Chic at The Estate
I always look to comfortable and breathable fabrics with style for a summer BBQ. This flowy dress by Tibi is great with a strappy sandal and fun accessories.
Date Night at The Darby with Andrew / Birthday Bash for Kate
A sexy update to the LBD is always a favorite of mine for a night out, especially a birthday party! I love adding a pop of color with a great cross-body bag (also great for dancing) and statement jewelry like this embellished Kenneth Jay Lane cuff. I always pack my Lancôme eye liner for the night for any touch-up needs!

Jenn in London - Day One

10 Things We Love 7.18.11

3 Pinkberry Salted Caramel Cones
Creamy, sweet, salty, crunchy... need we say more?? Chondita and the rest of the office have a thing for one-handed pinkberry.

5 iTunes Festival: London 2011
Megan is LOVING the iTunes Festival: London 2011, specifically last week’s Adele performance. If you're like her and couldn't make the trek to London for the performance, you can relive it through the live tracks now available on iTunes. She especially loves her cover of Bonnie Raitt's "I Can't Make You Love Me.”

6 Surf Lodge
We know the word is already out on Surf Lodge given the 1000 or so pretty young things all dressed up waiting on line Saturday night, but Jenn did enjoy some afternoon drinks there with the incredible live music and the laid back summery vibe. It closes at the end of September so get there quick.
7 September Issue of Tattoo Magazine
Check out this page from Tattoo Magazine. That's Alex from our very own Operations team on the top right. We're eagerly awaiting the first Rent the Runway tattoo...

Warm Up 2011, presented by MoMA PS1, takes place every Saturday this summer through September 3. Erica loves the museum's outdoor series that introduces audiences to the best in experimental live music, sound, performance, and DJs.
9 Newport, RI
After a weekend trip, Cathy fell in love with the charming Rhode Island town of Newport. Cute shops, seaside dining, boat rides around Narragansett Bay, and the beautiful Bellevue mansions are an adorable respite from the fast pace in Manhattan.
Table-side service is the kind of movie theater experience that Erica likes. At this new theater in Williamsburg, you’ll find a street-level café serving gourmet concessions and cocktails along with service during the movies.
Style Awards: Lovely in Lace
Fri, 2011-07-15 12:08 | by AnonymousIt’s no wonder why fans chose Amy as this week’s Style Awards winner. With the city as her backdrop, Amy looks ready for a fun night at a friend’s wedding, and she certainly looks hot in this lacy Nicole Miller dress! We love that she made it an RTR weekend and wore this Shoshanna dress to the rehearsal dinner too- so pretty!

Do you have a picture in RTR that you want to share? If you would like to see it end up on our facebook page or blog, please send it to ShareRTR@renttherunway.com
Friday Fashion Fun: Girls’ Night, Kanye, and More
Fri, 2011-07-15 10:09 | by AnonymousLucky girls get the chance to eat ice cream and hang with Matthew Williamson, rumors swirl that Kanye is designing womenswear, and Thakoon launches e-commerce. Here's what's interesting in the wild world of fashion this week.
Matthew Williamson’s Sweet Collaboration with Cat Deeley
Cat Deeley has teamed up with Haagen Dazs to design their new boudoir located in London’s Covent Garden, and she asked her good friend Matthew Williamson to help out. Until the end of the month, girls can come in for cocktails, dressing up, make-overs, and DJ lessons along with a scoop of ice cream. The most exciting part is the chance to spend a Girls’ Night In with Williamson. The fashion designer will act as a stylist for 8 lucky friends. [Harper’s Bazaar UK]

Kanye West at Fashion Week?
'Ye has yet to say a word, but rumor has it that he will be showing a womenswear collection at New York Fashion Week. Apparently he has studios in London and New York and has been spending months working on the collection with help from some players in the fashion design world. [Fashionista]

Thakoon Launches E-commerce
Thakoon tweeted Wednesday that the label will be launching its first e-commerce site. Starting July 22nd, www.thakoon.com will be open for shopping. They're already giving away $1,000 prize that you can enter to win by registering on their site here. [Racked]

Thursday Obsession 7/14/11
Wed, 2011-07-13 18:25 | by AnonymousThis week’s obsession brings us right back to high school English class. The love story between Elizabeth Bennet and Mr. Darcy is one of the classics, and we love this literary clutch from Kate Spade. How chic would you feel walking around with this under your arm?

Inspired by Kate
Wed, 2011-07-13 18:01 | by AnonymousThe Duke and Duchess of Cambridge’s North American tour might as well have been called the Kate Middleton Style Tour of America. The world waited for the next photo of the next outfit, not to see a misstep but to see her knock it out of the park time and again with her chic choices. We love the accessibility of her style -she undoubtedly relies on help to assemble her wardrobe and re-wears her favorite pieces from the past. Using Kate as our inspiration, we’ve compiled some princess-worthy looks just for you.
Ladylike Class

No one can wear a slim sheath quite as well as Kate, but you can get the look with these options from RTR.
Brand Loyal
.jpg)

Kate is nothing if not devoted to her go-to labels. One favorite designer is Alice Temperley, and she has publicly sported multiple pieces from her. You can share in her devotion through our Temperley London collection.
Sleeves

Unlike Mrs. O who likes to show off her toned arms, Kate likes a good sleeve. While these may not be practical for the current summer heat, a three-quarter sleeve will be perfect for any event come fall.

During her time stateside, Kate wore one lucky American designer, Diane von Furstenberg. Note the fabulous DVF clutch paired with the bright green dress.
Check out more Kate-inspired styles here.
Style Spotlight: Heidi Klum
Wed, 2011-07-13 11:40 | by Anonymous
You know those annoying women that have it all together- career, kids, husband, and hot body? Well, Heidi Klum is one of those women, plus she's supermodel hot, extremely likable and has a unique sense of style all her own. With that insane figure, Heidi isn’t afraid to take fashion risks, yet she always looks appropriate for the occasion. Through various designer collaborations and as the host of Project Runway, we know she’s savvy when it comes to design, and this week, we want to shine our Style Spotlight on “The Body” herself.
Heidi’s look is all red hot sophistication, and you can emulate it in this Escada sheath. Add an impressive ring to complete the look.
Borrow Heidi’s sleek, confident style in a body-skimming black dress for a business meeting or job interview.
Though she may have four kids, Heidi can still rock a mini, and you can too in this flattering dress by Ali Ro. With this dress and a sparkly cuff, you’ll be ready to hit the town.
Summer Wedding Beauty Tips
Tue, 2011-07-12 18:57 | by Lara Crystal
Looking hot when it’s hot outside isn’t always easy: we all know that summer humidity can melt a picture-perfect makeup application in five minutes flat. To keep your face looking fresh even as the temperature soars, the general rule is less is more. Follow these easy tips for makeup that withstands the warm weather at your weddings.
Use products with staying power
Liquid liner is notoriously smudge-proof, which makes it perfect for an outdoor or all-day affair. To ensure a crisp line, apply eyeshadow first. Then, line your top lashes starting near your nose and thickening as you move outwards, which will create an eye-opening effect. Try the Lancôme Artliner in Black, whose felt-tip applicator draws a perfect line every time.
Lighten up on lids and lips
If you know you’re going to be standing in direct sun or anywhere near an ocean, forego the sultry smoky eye makeup and red lipstick in favor of a lighter, breezier look. Do a sheer wash of shadow on lids and give lips pop of red color with gloss. We like Lancôme Juicy Tubes in Berry Bold.
Embrace your warm weather glow
Powder foundation and perspiration simply do not play well together. To get more natural coverage this season, try a tinted moisturizer. For a perfectly pre-mixed version that boasts SPF 30 to boot, try Lancôme Bienfait Multi-Vital Teinté.
Tuesday Tip: Make a Statement
Tue, 2011-07-12 16:59 | by AnonymousA statement necklace can really take a dress to the next level, from pretty to show-stopping, but it’s the type of accessory that takes some thought. You’ll want to consider the neckline of the dress as well as the length and size of the necklace. Big, sparkly pieces can be a great way to dress up a daytime look or take a look from day to night. Take a look at these options that will have all eyes on you at your next event.
Strapless dresses work really well with statement necklaces where an exposed collarbone can work as a canvas for your jewels. While almost any style of necklace will look good, bib necklaces are particularly well suited for a strapless silhouette.
High necklines need some baubles too. With this style, there is no need to worry about the length of the necklace, and this time, the dress serves as the canvas for your accessory.
An asymmetrical neckline can be more difficult to pair with a statement piece, but when done right, it can highlight the unique shape of the dress.

4 US Women's Soccer
We’re totally into girl power after the US women’s soccer team beat Brazil in an intense game to make the World Cup Semifinals. U-S-A!
5 Teal for Fall
This gorgeous, wearable color was popping up all over fall collections, so the combination of the summer heat and the idea of renting one of these dresses has us wishing it was fall already.
Stephanie is totally obsessed with this trendy boutique at Broadway and Spring in SoHo. Like her, we love the cool, exclusive lines you can’t find anywhere else.
7 Mumford & Sons
It’s hard not to love the soothing sounds of Mumford & Sons, and our intern Megan loves this new song. She says just listening isn’t enough, since the cinematography in the video of their performance is so cool.
8 Summer Picnics
The design team had a potluck picnic at a park by the water near Westside Highway. Their spread included wasabi guacamole, asparagus pizza, pesto pasta, mandarin orange salad with fresh candied almonds, fudge brownie bites, and apple pie. Yum!
9 Whipped Lightning
For Anushka’s birthday celebration, her friends brought over some Whipped Lightning aka alcohol-infused whipped cream!
Ashley F. is a big fan of the Reduxx Trim Suit, a weighted suit proven to enhance weight loss and overall health and well-being. Forget going to the gym, just wear it underneath everyday clothes!
Friday Fashion Fun: Designers Do Charity + More
Fri, 2011-07-08 14:27 | by AnonymousChristian Siriano and Nicole Miller both use their designing talents to lend support to charitable causes and Alberta Ferretti does bridal. Read on to find out what some of our designers have been working on…
Christian Siriano Rocks the Runway for Breast Cancer
Christian Siriano’s latest collaboration has heart. The Annapolis native is bringing New York fashion and his Spring 2012 collection to the D.C. area by teaming up with 14 Washington designers for the Pink Jams! 2nd Annual Pink Rocks the Runway fundraiser. Siriano will help raise money for breast cancer awareness. [Washington Examiner]
Alberta Ferretti Forever
Alberta Ferretti unveiled her second Alberta Ferretti Forever bridal collection. Fittingly named after movie stars, the dresses are ethereal Old Hollywood glamour and each take between 30 and 80 hours to make. We would gladly get married 13 times to be able to wear each one. [Vogue UK]
Nicole Miller & Indego Africa
By adding apparel to the collection, Nicole Miller is expanding on her partnership with nonprofit organization Indego Africa, which supports women artisans in Rwanda. She started with textile bangles and woven bracelets, and now Miller has branched out into using hand-crafted textiles to create bright colored sarongs and short-shorts. The pieces are available online and 15% of the proceeds go to Indego Africa. [FashionEtc]
Style Awards: Boating Beauty
Fri, 2011-07-08 11:40 | by AnonymousThis week’s Style Award competition was tough, but Kerry was the clear fan favorite. Our winner looked gorgeous in the BCBGMAXAZRIA Tea Room Tapestry dress and accessorized with a great statement necklace. Looks like Kerry and her date had a fun night, and she certainly had winning style!

Thursday Obsession 7/7/11
Thu, 2011-07-07 13:05 | by AnonymousWith the couture shows going on in Paris right now, we would give anything to be able to hop on a plane to the City of Light. Since that isn’t exactly possible, the next best thing might be the Dîner en Blanc. Thousands of people dressed in white are invited annually to some of Paris’ most well-known landmarks for a picnic, and New York is doing its own version of the event in August. Unfortunately it's a little more difficult than just showing up in white with your picnic basket. There’s a guest list and a waitlist, the location is a secret, and party crashers get blacklisted from future dinners. Now we just have to figure out how to score an invite…
Thanks New York Times for the pic!
Behind the Seams: Jay Godfrey
Wed, 2011-07-06 17:59 | by Anonymous
A celeb-favorite, New-York based designer Jay Godfrey creates pieces that epitomize everything sleek, sexy, and sophisticated. He knows how to accentuate the female figure, and we're thrilled to add his contemporary pieces to our Rent the Runway collection. Take a peek behind the seams to learn what inspired his Fall 2011 line, why he doesn't like trends, and more.

Tell us the story behind your latest line.
Fall 2011 is inspired by the personal style of former French Vogue editor-in-chief, Carine Roitfield. I had such a good time going through hundreds and hundreds of images of her. I love her disheveled elegance, unadulterated sex appeal and her love affair with animal prints and lace. These images inspired the fall 2011 collection through and through.

What is something you dream of achieving but haven’t yet?
It's always fun to dream. In particular, I have always wanted to design a menswear line. My idol, Tom Ford, has mastered both men’s and women’s, and one day, I hope to have a successful men’s collection that is part Keith Richards and part Charlie Watts.
How would you describe your own style?
My personal style is a little uptown (read: tailored) and a little downtown (read: messy). I love mixing it up by wearing a quirky tux jacket with a t-shirt, jeans, and a scarf (always).

What is your favorite fashion trend right now?
I don’t really like trends, to be honest :) I like eternal style.
What was your proudest moment as a designer?
My proudest moment as a designer was the first time I went out and saw someone wearing one of my dresses. It was a regular human being (i.e. not a celebrity) and I really was tickled by the fact that this person paid money for something I created! To this day, I still get excited by that.

If you could give advice to aspiring designers, what would it be?
Start out doing what you do best! Master it, and THEN spread your wings into other categories/areas. This is what all successful designers like Ralph, Donna, and Calvin have done!
Style Spotlight: Emma Stone
Wed, 2011-07-06 12:36 | by AnonymousSince her breakout role in the comedy Superbad, Emma Stone has been on the fast track, even earning a Golden Globe nomination this year for her starring role in Easy A. She has yet to make a major misstep in her rising acting career, and the same can be said for her red carpet style. Her choices are never too safe or predictable and always inspire fashion envy, so it's time for her to shine in this week’s Style Spotlight.
Emma looks fun and fresh on the cover of Glamour in a D&G dress, and we love to see this flirty look on her. Wear this dress to an outdoor wedding or on a date.
This look is pure sophistication, and Emma looks polished in a black dress with a romantic updo and simple hoop earrings. Steal her style for a cocktail party and add a playful clutch.
Emma makes a statement in this sassy skirt by Yigal Azrouël, and you can too in this similar dress by the designer. Keep your jewelry simple with these hoops and all eyes will be on you.
Tuesday Tip: Day to Night
Tue, 2011-07-05 18:08 | by AnonymousWe all have days where we're running non-stop from one thing to the next without time to stop and think about what to wear next. If you're a girl-on-the-go with who's too busy for wardrobe changes, here are some great ways to get more out of your look by wearing it to the office and on into the night.
This Twelfth Street by Cynthia Vincent dress is great for happy hour and dinner out with friends. Cover your shoulders at work with a white blazer then transition to night by switching into silver strappy heels and adding a statement necklace.
Start your day in this Mark & James by Badgley Mischka dress paired with flat gold sandals and simple jewelry. Take it up a notch for an evening wedding by adding gorgeous gold earrings and strappy gold heels.
Knock ‘em dead in your business meeting during the day with this form-fitting Catherine Malandrino and a pair of black pumps. Take the look on to a cocktail party by adding a bold lip color and switching the pumps for something a little more jazzy and strappy.
Style Note: Asymmetric Dresses
Tue, 2011-07-05 15:02 | by AnonymousGo for the drama at your next event with a billowy, asymmetric mini dress. Joanna Garcia gets the look right at the NYC premiere of Bad Teacher in a bright, summery red that goes perfectly with her shiny, auburn locks.

This silhouette would be great for a night out at a rooftop bar, and we love the way Joanna accessorizes with a sparkly cuff bracelet and nude heels. Get the look with any of these fun options.
10 Things We Love 7.5.11
Tue, 2011-07-05 13:06 | by Anonymous
1 Fireworks on the Hudson
The sparklers reminded us of the Dannijo Cecile earrings.
2 J.T.'s Seafood Shack
Jenn and Peter became regulars at the Cape Cod institution in Brewster this weekend. They loved the perfect lobster rolls, fried seafood, and ice cream sundaes.

Friday Fashion Fun: Adam for HSN, White by Vera, and More
Fri, 2011-07-01 13:49 | by AnonymousThis week is all about high end designers for less. Adam Lippes, Vera Wang, and Victoria Beckham are all producing lines that are a little less traumatic for your bank account. So considerate for shopaholics like us!
Adam Lippes x HSN
Adam Lippes, designer of ADAM, will design a lower-priced, more casual line for HSN. The line called Love Adam launches this September and will be similar to the collection Lippes did for mass-retailer Mango. [Fashionologie]
White by Vera Wang
If you’ve dreamed about your future wedding, then you may have dreamed about walking down the aisle in an ethereal Vera Wang confection. That dream could be closer to reality with Wang’s more affordable, yet still every bit as beautiful line for David’s Bridal. Though they may be a fraction of the price of the main Vera Wang line, the designs for White are voluminous and intricately detailed. [FashionEtc]
Victoria by Victoria Beckham
Along with the others, Victoria Beckham is also delving into a different market with her own lower-priced line, Victoria by Victoria Beckham, set to debut in spring 2012. This line is more girly than her signature line, featuring details like scalloped hems and pleats as opposed to the structured, form-fitting dresses she designed before. Maybe she’s been inspired by the impending birth of her baby girl? [Fashionista]

Style Awards: South Beach Stunner
Fri, 2011-07-01 11:35 | by Anonymous
Alissa wowed our fans (and probably her boyfriend too) in this stunning Hervé Léger Papaya Bandage Dress. She wore it for a long weekend in Miami and said it’s been one of her favorite RTR dresses so far. The color looks great with her South Florida suntan, and we agree that Alissa is deserving of this week’s Style Award- Congrats to our winner!
